Why would we hand you UPL for a cap dump, already have Comrie

Why would Kane want to sign in MTL? Doesn't he want a chance at a cup this year?

Allen is better than Comrie, that's the problem with Buffalo good team bad goaltenders.

The Sabres aren't trading upl for Allen, that's for sure.

He can still get traded at the deadline and have a successful season plus get paid his worth.

Minnesota traded Talbot for Gustafson last season young goalie for experience goaltender. Same scenario as this one. It was a good trade for both teams.

That sure got Minnesota far. Allen is bad though

It was not a good trade for both teams lol. Gustavsson was arguably a top 5 goalie last year whereas Talbot was below average

Calgary already has to many wingers and can't fit Gallagher. We don't need Desmith, because if we trade a goalie its so Wolf can play(and that goalie would be Vladar not Markstrom)

But then he doesn't get to choose where he gets to go, which is what he wants to do in the first place

Kent Hughes would make him go where he wants. Just like he did with Jeff Petry. If a guy like Kane can bring Caufield and Suzuki in the 70+ points that's a plus for the organization even if it's ¾ of a season.

Simply, Kane just will bypass the Habs and go to a contender, he's already made his money and he doesn't need another GM to decide where he wants to play at the end of his career and he especially won't want to sh1t kicked out of him every game for half a season

Allen's worse than Murray though... he's no where near Gustafson and costs way more

Gustavsson was 3.55 in Ottawa Talbot was 2.93 in Ottawa that's a plus for Ottawa. Gustavsson went from 3.55 to 2.10 that also paid off the Minnesota.

No Murray is better than Talbot and Allen but can't stay healthy. Talbot had similar cap hit as Allen at time of trade. Allen's numbers in St Louis we're the same as Talbot Murray a couple years back.

If I'd be a hockey or any athlete in that kind of situation. I'd take 3 plus millions over leagues minimum. Tarasenko did it in Ottawa, Ottawa are not contenders.

Just can't see any GM giving up anything for Allen, he's essentially a cap dump at this point.

That trade does nothing for Calgary, they'd decline.

Calgary doesn't have enough right shooting forwards. It's true they don't need DeSmith but if they call up Wolf DeSmith is good depth.

Ottawa's in a different spot than MTL though... OTT will be competitive and Kane's already signed a 10.5/8 whereas Tarasenko hasn't come close to that amount of money, MTL isn't a favourable destination and Kane doesn't need to have another losing season for 3/4 of the season

Diff was, Talbot and Murray were the undisputed starters at their respective times when they were great... Allen was a backup in STL and was awful for the past 2 seasons... And you don't see Murray getting traded for positive value

Lol what? Just because he holds his stick right doesn't mean he is useful doing it. Vould just bring back Ritchie in that scenario. Between Lindholm, Coronato, Ruzicka, and Duehr I think they are fine on right shooting forwards

Allen doesn’t fix that though- he’s a BAD goaltender himself
There’s no chance at all the Sabres do this- NONE
