I’m just saying if they make it clear he won’t be extended then he could waive to a team that would give him an extension this summer and move the family for 5 years then come back to Toronto when he retires.</div></div>
He’s made 112M in his career he can certainly retire if you all wanna run him out of Toronto and he’d rather be with his family

Why? He can play out the year in Toronto and retire or then decide to move to the place of his choosing. Him waiving does nothing for him

Realistic Trades From a non fan of either team
This does nothing but push the Blues timeline back. As it’s been discussed in previous iterations of this deal, trading Parayko is a non starter. All that does is open a hole on the right side we have no way of replacing. You’ve move out a point per game player who at most will cost us 8M a year and a top end prospect for a guy we can’t won’t and would never resign

I don’t know if I’d agree with that. I do see a world where the draft falls a certain way they’d probably go for it. I think IF and it seems to be a larger if now that at the deadline, the Blues move him it will be to address the D

Blues complete offseason - retool
If we go this route I’d prefer to move Hayes and let Dvorsky play C. Then let Torp and Sylvegard compete for the wing on the third the other can play the 4th line with Dean and Sunny
I guess you could also hold Hayes til the deadline but I’d just prefer Dvorsky get the reps

Necas
I think you’ll have to take Morrow out. The only way I see this working is if the cap crunch pinches Necas. However, with his performance this year and last I’d have a hard time thinking he’s not near the top of their priority list. Morrow they afford to trade as they need some cost controlled top end players and he very much looks like that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Away</b></div><div>Jancrok is a decent 3rd line that can play all positions
Kampf is a 4th liner but we get paid to take them</div></div>
Not well enough you are clogging the bottom. The Blues need space to fold in Dalibor, Snuggs, and Dean Torp needs the chance at a bigger role next year. Then you have Walker, Sunny, Alexandrov, Hayes, Sylvegard all under contract for next year in the bottom six. 2 seconds does not account for the wasted space on the cap for multiple years

You’re just tying up money in 2 fourth liners and moving out productive secondary scoring

There’s just nothing in that Buch trade very appealing, not to mention JT ain’t waiving. The Blues are looking for youth and draft capital this is a lot of filler and side pieces

Now we all know the trade is terrible, but the second half of that comment is absurd. You could easily build a package around Rob Thomas that would get it done

Oh sorry, didn’t realize we needed to explain it. So the Blues are moving a giant hole at the top on the left side of the defense for the right side and while I heart draft picks, we would then need to turn around and flip probably the OTT or STL pick with the BOS pick to plug that hole.
Not to mention Chychrun has one year left on his deal and will likely require a raise past what we are paying Parayko.
It just doesn’t make sense from the Blues side. Now if you want to trade Faulk for Chychrun be my guest

The Blues are not trading Parayko. If the Blues trade Parayko, they immediately have to find his replacement. It makes zero sense. Armstrong has said several times the plan is to stay competitive and retool. Trading your top RHD with no replacement ain’t that
