Realistic
This looks pretty good. I know the game is getting smaller and faster, but I still worry about 2 undersized pairs. Nyquist is a great fit imo.
Assuming the Hanzal move is for Ott cap floor as they rebuild?

How to improve
Yeah, I like this lineup. The back end is equal parts puck mover and dump truck. I don’t hate Polak, he was all heart for us this year, but his numbers started to look really bad deep into the playoffs.

There??s always next year or winning the off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja40</b></div><div>Great seven game series. Coming from a guy who's watched the Blues for close to 50 years, you guys have a great team yet I'd like to make a recommendation. Dallas should be in the hunt for a strong playoff run, but the thing that really hurt you guys over the seven game series was the lack of much physicality from your defensemen. You have some seriously high-skilled defenders, but none of them really stood anyone up at the blue line or knocked the crap out of any of our forwards. The main reason the Blues won that series was due to offensive zone possession. Dallas simply couldn't knock us off the puck in your zone. I think adding Stralman looks good on paper, but won't address your major need. I'd look to see if Philly was willing to move Gudas. He's exactly what you guys need.</div></div>
Yeah, I thought about Tyler Myers instead (as a FA). Polak did some of that for us during the season, but his possession/shot share numbers are terrible. Btw, I think the Blues are about to bulldoze the Sharks.

Rounding out Top 4 D and Forward Depth
I wouldn’t trade Julius Honka, or anyone else for Kris Russell. That is a guy I am not interested in having on the Stars, he’s not fast or offensively dangerous, and he’s tiny. Hard pass.

Pre Game 7
So in this scenario, I’m buying out Val, and letting Ritchie and Honka walk for nothing. It’s not ideal, but I think they have very little if any trade value. Nichuskin especially, with 0 goals @ close to $3 mil. I re-signed Polak, but I’d imagine the team might have a better feel for Johns possible return. If Johns is healthy, I don’t sign Roman.
My thought is hopefully Guri or L’Esperance really take a step forward next season, similar to Hintz this year. I’d give Robertson a chance to develop at the AHL unless he just blows the doors off at camp, enough to be in the top 6 (or 9, if the Stars somehow sign Zucc AND Nelson!).

No way I’d bring Kessel to the Stars, especially not for Hintz.

Dallas 2019-20
I was thinking the same thing. Re-sign Zucc and try and sign Stralman (I might rather have Tyler Myers, but not sure Stars can afford him). That D will move the puck, man. Crazy. Also, I’d hope they can trade Janmark, Honka, Ritchie, and Val, to possibly clear enough space to get another forward that can score. Either way, I like what you’ve done with this.

I’d be ecstatic if the Stars could get a 2nd and 3rd for Nichuskin.

Yeah, I agree about the bottom two trades. Just if Dallas was able to swing Stone and Nyquist, they become a really dangerous team.

Maybe. I can’t tell what the market is going to be. The Dzingel trade looks iffy to me, but I think a solid roster player, 1st rounder, and prospect get the Stone deal done.
