That would do it IMO. A lot to gamble on a UFA when Dallas can't really afford to lose that kind of depth for nothing.

True but that top line is nasty. Dallas is currently ranked 2nd in GAA this year. If they had the firepower they’d be a real threat. Stone and Faksa together has the real potential of shutting down everyone’s top lines every night while being able to put up goals on the board

Faksa is a 3rd line C and that is about it. He just doesn't have the offensive firepower that you need to be a 1 or 2C. You would be better off keeping all those picks/players and go after Duchene July 1st.

I'd say you hit the nail on the head here. Ottawa would be downright stupid not to make this deal if it were actually offered to them.

Seems like a historical overpayment to obtain Stone. And really does it really get Dallas past Winnipeg and Nashville in the Central?

-Ottawa wink

Jk this is a really good offer. But I dont want to see Stone go at all. Hopefully we resign him.

Has Faksa ever played much with decent wingers though?
A line of Radulov-Faksa-Stone might be pretty good then throw whoever with Seguin and Benn, Dallas might actually have two lines that could put the puck in the net.

Considering the best player he’s played with before this year has been Antoine Roussel I’ll let you decide

Considering Dallas has the 2nd best GAA only behind the Islanders, 2 of the top 5 goalies ranked in the nhl, and they’re only missing some firepower upfront, they could probably get by Nashville

If dallas is smart they go after Duchene and Dzingle, solves their 2C problem and Dzingle is a 20+ goal scorer in his 20s.

Part of me says Robertson rather than Ty just because of losing a wing vs center.

Still, Stars would be in win now mode.

I don’t think it takes that much to get Stone
