There is no way in hell you’re getting a 2nd for “retaining 50% of Guentzel”. Delusional. PIT can retain the 50% themselves. Stay out of it.

Dubas using Evolving Hockey Contract Projections
Little bit of a nitpick, but I've seen enough Heinen in a Pens uniform. Get someone who can hit and play 2-way game. I would spend that money on someone like ZAR or someone similar.

Dubas using Evolving Hockey Contract Projections
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TDruga1400</b></div><div>Yeah I looked at compher as that guy who starts on the 3rd line but if it doesnt work out as 3C, then can get moved up to wing on the 2nd line. Our bottom 6 was something he made sure to talk about so its possible, but also possible he goes 2 guys around 2.5-3. It'll be interesting, I can't wait</div></div>
Yeah, with Carter making 3M (that's not going anywhere) and being a strong center, I could see him go with him as the 3C for now and sign someone like Pius Suter as you did to be the 3C going forward. Maybe he goes with a familiar face in Kerfoot at 3.5M if he wants someone that he thinks can go up and down the lineup. Kerfoot did spend most of his time last year on the 3rd and 4th line though, so I think Dubas would be reluctant to hand him 3.5M. For 4C, David Kampf if the Leafs don't resign him.
He'll look to add value by signing untendered RFAs as well so guess we need to see who is available.

Dubas using Evolving Hockey Contract Projections
Apparently, Dubas is willing to trade the 14 OV in a goalie trade, I think he tries going after Hellebuyck over Gibson, but could settle with the latter. If he does go FA route, then yeah probably Korpisalo or maybe Andersen (assuming there's no bad blood there) for something like 3.5Mx2.
JT Compher at 5.75M, especially to play 3C, is definitely something he wouldn't do.

offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Forbort is worlds better than both those guys. He’s actually good at something. He serves a purpose on the best blue line the NHL has seen in the last decade.</div></div>
I added him in knowing you were probably a Boston guy. Here are some of his stats with where he ranks against defenseman with 500+ min. Ranks in ():
5 goals scored which is 3 above expected goals
Corsi of 39% (193rd)
Shot Attempts 103, Shots 38, Missed the net 32% of the time (missed shot % is 133rd)
On Ice Expected Goals 42%
Off Ice Expected Goals: 57%
Relative Expected Goals: -15% (204th)
On Ice Expected Goals Against per 60: 3.65 (174th)
On Ice Shot Attempts Against per 60: 68 (190th)
On Ice High-Danger Shot Attempts Against per 60: 4.07 (182nd)
Created Goals: 1.7 (197th)
Hits: 106 (77th)
Shots Blocked: 88 (129th)
In every single metric no only is Forbort the worst defenseman on Boston, he is one of the worst in the NHL. And, for context, all of those stats are significantly worse than POJ, who you said was terrible.
So, if he doesn't create goals or drive play or prevent goals, what is he good at?

Totally agree.
I think him and Pettersson were a great pairing and if that is your 2nd pairing, you are laughing.
He played on the 2nd pair for most of the year and was on the 2nd PP and was still on pace for 40 points.
Sign a top guy like Graves to pair with Letang and that d-core is good to go.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>soooonk</b></div><div>I don’t think it’s far off
What do you think the Flames could get for Hanifin if he won’t re-sign or it’s a deadline deal?</div></div>
If Hanifin won’t re-sign or wants too much money, we’ll either do a Sign & Trade this off-season OR Trade him at the Deadline, in which case the return should be the same:
1st + 2nd + 3rd + Top Prospect
Something similar to what Hampus Lindholm brought ANA: 1st+2nd+2nd+TopProspect+Moore, except we likely won’t want or accept a Cap Dump like ANA took in Moore
Something like this seems more appropriate:
1st + 2nd/Poulin + Hallander + POJ
I don’t know a ton about them, but I’m assuming CGY would need to feel Hallander could slide on to the 4th line at LW or C and hopefully become a Defensive Shut Down Forward and Potential Future 3/4C = Backlund Replacement
Not sure about Poulin, as he had a down year, but he’s French, has Good Size and may have upside and more to show given he was a Former 1st Rounder
Depending on whether we keep Zadorov, whether Kylington returns and whether Poirier is ready next season, POJ would be a good replacement player option. Since we already have Poirier, I doubt we’d be interested in Ty Smith, but he’d be another option
Broz (we already have Ruzicka, Zary & Ben Jones), Nylander (not much value given his age and injury history) and Legare (we already have Coronato, Duehr & Schwindt) caught my eyes as well as potential Trade Pieces/Sweeteners the Flames might like as well

I think AZ is going to want Pickering or Smith. Poulin is a so-so prospect at this point.
For VAN, if they're willing to eat some salary for Miller, my guess it's closer to $1.5-$2M and would need a 1st.

to be honest i think this a good offer value wise for sure. i think what he will end up be traded for wont be more than this(as much as shatks fan will want more) but the offer might be different pieces from a different team with value equal to this.

I think they would say Hextall making a series of good decisions is the “dream on” moment. He gets a ton of hate, too much imo. I am waiting until after FA to form my opinion on him - he hasn’t had enough moves to get a fair grade either good or bad but he definitely will in a few days

I like what you here. A lot. I would make it a bit more realistic by trading pettersson instead of zucker, then not signing Erod.
This would let POJ play the left and Ruhwedel play the right while Friedman is 7D. I think you would have about 2 mil in cap space so if you wanted to upgrade 3RD or 4LW you could

*if* the Pens do trade Marino as part of a Miller deal, I think they still need to move Pettersson or Dumo to fit POJ in the lineup. you’re setting him up for failure at RD
100% agree with Marchment being a top target, especially given what his projected contract is. I’d also like to see Sonny Milano if he ends up costing too much
