What do you think of this
I thank you for your thoughts. You both make great points. Just trying to see what things might look like with Raymond and Soderblum on the same line, given that they have been on the same line before and showed good chemistry. Perhaps it's best to scrap that idea, at least doe the time being. Like I said in the first post, this idea has a lot of issues.

how the wings should continue with the rebuild
This doesn't make sense. Zadina. Perron, and Kubalik, why would we trade players we just signed. Yzerman made a big deal of Larkin becoming captain. I don't see him being traded. I can't see Nashville being remotely interested in the trade that was offered. Also in trading assets, Suter wasn't mentioned, I don't see him having a place on this team, I would trade him and maybe Fabbri as well.

I know this idea has issues, first of all, I am not sure what forwards we would bring up if Burtuzzi goes on IR. This is all based on the idea that if Burtuzzi goes on IR, then maybe it might make sense to bring Soderblum up to the first line. I have read several articles about how Soderblum and Raymond have shown good chemistry together in international hockey, Another idea might be to have a Berggren/Raymond/Soderblum line. Of course this would mean breaking up the Soderblum/Rasmussen/Sundquist line, and I would like to keep that line together. Just kinda thinking what a line with Raymond and Soderblum might look like and how it would effect the rest of the lines. I know this idea has problems, but the idea of putting Raymond and Soderblum on the same line is something that I find intriguing.

Bertuzzi Injury - New guys deliver - Larkin 1G 2A
If Burtuzzi is out for a while, I wounder if there is any chanc2 of seeing Solderblum and Raymond on the same line. I know they have played on the same line in international hockey with good results. They seem to have some chemistry.

Trying to make sence of the moves made today
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DeadWingsv2</b></div><div>Rasmussen has easily cemented his spot at 3c, this is ridiculous where you have him. My bet is Soderblom plays on the 4th line and gets PP time as net front. Once Sunny is cleared, Soderblom will be sent to GR.
Also, Barton is hurt, he will not be on the roster.</div></div>
Ok, thanks that makes sense. Like I said I was trying to make sense of the moves today. I agree with you on Rasmussen, but didn't with Soderblum being on the team, had to slot his somewhere. I'd rather have Soderblum on the top line in GR and being on the 4th line in Detroit, think that would be better for his development, but hey what do I know.

Trying to make sense of the moves that Stevie made today, this is what I came up with. I see that Seth Barton was sent down, all I can gather from that is that Haag isn't ready to go yet, so he'll be on IR to start the season, so Seth is a healthy scratch. Solderblom also didn't get sent down, I can't seem him as a 4th liner, if think he would be better suited to be in GR than a 4th liner. I don't see a place for Suter, I think he'll be traded soon, but don't know would be interested and what the asking price would be. Still trying to make sense of the changes that were made. The only other player that is unaccounted for is Biakabutuka, nut that is a GR issue, very interested whether he'll be given a ECL or not.
Curious as to what everyone else things about the moves done today. Seth Barton is the one that really has me scratching my head, only think I can think is that Haag isn't quite ready. Also I really hope that Soderblum isn't a 4th liner, or a healthy scratch, I don't see how that would help his development.

Opening Season Line-up
I think Soderblum starts in GR, better to be on the top line there, than to be buried on the 4th in Detroit. I also don't see how Suter fit in the team. I see Rasmussen as centering the third line. Suter to be traded, to good to be a 4th line player, but we don't have room for him. Don't know what his trade value is or who would be interested in him. Just don't see him in Detroit, just don't see a place for him.

Predicting Larkin Extension
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mike</b></div><div>Larkin likely gets the cute $8.71M aav it's fair for both sides .. Much as I like EVERYTHING about Dylan let's not make him out to be yzerman fedorov datsyuk .. He's likely 80pts tops type player & not an elite defender (yet) .. So while he is IMPORTANT & itd suck to lose him in trade etc he's not vital if he wants to play hard ball with yzerman.... I think he's smart enough to take that number ballpark to be redwing (for life maybe)</div></div>
Instead of have 71 as part of his cap hit, but if ya just made the entire contract worth 71 mil, over 8 years it has a 8.875 cap hit.

I got a feeling that he'll sign for 8 years/71 mil and if I did my math right that comes with a 8.875 cap hit.
