Well Minnesota obviously declines. Not trading a 2nd for the displeasure of extending a 34 year old Backlund and giving up one of our best value contracts to do it.

we should be all over Lindholm situation
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I generally agree, if he were 26 it would be a different story. My concern is that Kaprizov won't want to stick around once his contract is up if we don't have a legitimate 1C centering him and we'll be where we were 3 years ago.
I guess at this point I'm so sick of waiting for one of our prospects to finally turn into a 1C that I wouldn't hate something like this and I'm not as convinced as I was that Rossi will stick at center in the NHL. What I'd really like Guerin to do is trade up into the top 10 at the draft and take a center, but I'd be surprised if we did something like that.</div></div>
My concern is that the Wild will continue to not learn the lesson Vegas just showed the entire league: you can't be afraid to make a move, because if the move didn't work, you can just move on from it and try something else. Every time the league has a player who either is or could be a #1 center available, the Wild are always too gunshy to pull the trigger and I wish just once they would.

Yep, summer 2024 will probably be more interesting than this summer with Zuccarello, Foligno, Fleury, Hartman, and Goligoski all coming off the books. Hopefully they can get Zucc to come back on a cheaper short term deal. The cap will probably go up more than $1m too, so yeah, I'd think they could figure out Lindholm if he would want to play here.

Even if he will only be 28 years old when the contract ends? By then, the salary cap could be approaching $100M.

He is probably looking for stability in a city, at least that is what I took away from one of his interviews a couple of months ago. Given his style of play, there is more of a chance of injury than with other forwards. That is just my read of it.

Yeah 100% - it's incredibly predictable that he'd almost immediately ask for out of here, which is why it's odd it's even a rumor to begin with.

I said this in another thread, but PLD supposedly being open to MN is such a head-scratcher....like why? Not perennial contenders, 2 years of crippling dead cap, similar weather to WPG, not a huge market...
Dont' get me wrong, this is a no-brainer level of value from MN. You can do better and I'd have no problem paying more. I just think he's trolling with that leak.

Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SNipeSHowInc</b></div><div>Leafs decline, Rossi doesn’t look to be the most promising anymore, I don’t think he adds a ton of value to this package (similar to how Robertson wouldn’t for the Leafs.). No need for Fleury, Foligno as a 3rd line winger brings physicality, but that’s available on the open market. Basically comes down to a First and second for a retained Nylander. Rather have Nylander</div></div>
I think people judge Rossi too much based on the 21 games he has played in the NHL, in a bottom-six role. He has produced at every level, from the juniors (over 2 PPG) to the AHL (a point-per-game) to the international stage (point-per-game in this year's WC, carrying a weak Austrian squad). And he has been sound defensively in the NHL, as well.
All he needs, in my opinion, is a strong summer and an opportunity to prove himself. The guy is just 21, he oozes skill and is determined. The offensive breakthrough will come. That's why I wouldn't trade him, especially when his stock has taken a hit.

He’s open to half a dozen teams and has provided a list of teams he is willing to sign with. Sounds like Minny is one of them

You might be right about him not waiving for Winni (I mean what intelligent person would want to live there…), but…he makes perfect sense being part of this trade! He’s a legit middle 6 stopgap forward who can be flipped at the deadline. That plus 3 good pieces for the Jets’ future is a great return for PLD.

While as a third party - this seems like a fair trade - I don't think PLD is willing to switch from WPG to MN (no offense, I'm sure MN is super nice and the vibes are immaculte) as he seems to be looking for a big market like MTL - hell he could end up in LA with Danault.

I think the reason Minny is looking to move Addison is because they can't pay him, so I doubt the return they want is a $3 Mil player for the bottom 6.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I was super high on Rossi during his during his draft year, but the past year or so I've changed my mind: I don't think a player his size can succeed as an NHL center unless they're incredibly talented. Every excellent forward 5'9" or shorter is a winger. I'd hope with this type of package we could move up further, but I don't hate using Rossi as a trade chip</div></div>
Yep, that’s the same as me. I still think he’s got a good likelihood to be a regular NHLer, but it’ll need to be at wing. And if that’s the case, then I’d rather parlay his value into a trade.
I’m high on Dvorsky myself, but I’m no expert and would be open to exploring other options. If we can do better than this trade, I’m game. Not married to this particular idea, but I do think we should be testing the waters.

Realistically, it's still too early to say. He's ppg in the AHL and when he has come up to the NHL, they've stuck him in the bottom 6 with grinders. Most of the Wild fanbase would despise this trade, so I'm in the minority that would strongly consider it.
