Basically an impossible trade given their cap situation, without making 2 or 3 other trades to clear additional cap. At that point, you've successfully ruined your team's depth and given up a 1st round pick in the process. Easy pass.

You could if you move out one of MAF or Foligno. Forgot you all have so much dead space. Just brutal.

You're giving Minnesota quantity over quality. When we have no cap space, that's not what we're looking for in a trade.

Leafs dream, Wild's nightmare. They're adding more salary for a lesser player, easy pass.

Is Columbus Nasty
They are about to be especially nasty, but I think adding Lindholm will hurt the team's cap structure and prevent them from being able to lock up young talent.
No way does CBJ take that MIN trade. Boq has more value than that, and what Foligno brings isn't needed right now. Also, that move forcing them to put Gud on the 2nd pair would hurt the defense. If Boq <em>IS</em> moved out, I think it'll be because Jiricek has taken his job.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I'd be shocked if we did anything <em>but</em> nothing. Would be nice to clear some cap but with Goligoski refusing to move his NMC and the unlikelihood Foligno and MAF will be traded, that only really leaves Merrill.
I'd love to find a way to get Nylander since we could actually afford an extension for him next year, but it's almost impossible to fit him in this year.</div></div>
No I agree, but that's kinda my question - is nothing even feasible?
What I have here is essentially the bare minimum and it's pretty dang tight. I know it technically works, it just seems like it's gonna be really difficult to manage 82 games this way, if they truly do have playoff aspirations. Idk see how it's gonna be anything other than constant plug-and-plug, 11-7, etc. as injuries pop up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Duhaime will probably get traded. I imagine Guerin would love to sing him for that, but sounds like he wants more money and we just don't have the space to make that happen.
I hope Rossi gets a shot in the top 6 on the 2nd line with Johansson and Boldy. We need to see what he can do and putting him with Gaudreau and Foligno isn't doing him any favors to develop offensively.
I don't really love the plan this year. We aren't contenders and I'd rather punt and try to get a high pick next year to continue stocking the pool, but Guerin seems determined to make the playoffs.
We certainly did target forwards in the draft this year, taking 3 centers in the first 63 picks. I've long questioned why we haven't been prioritizing center in our prospect pool when it has been such a need for us, but the front office definitely addressed that this year. Time will tell on these kids, but we really need someone to develop into a 1C.</div></div>
Hey! Where have you been? I've noticed that you haven't been very active on CF this year. How did school go?

It has been confirmed that MN is not qualifying Steel and he'll be UFA, so you can remove him entirely.
You look to be too high on Gus' number - 1x3.1 or 3x3.5 is what we've been told to expect by Russo.
Merrill could be the cap casualty - Goose said he isn't waiving and can't see Guerin dealing Foligno before TDL.

Value of the deal aside, I can't see them trading that far up and targeting a winger who won't be here for another three years. I'd see them taking whichever of Smith, Carlsson, Dvorsky are left.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love both…I just think as players continue to get bigger and faster that processor speed gets more and more important! Also because I don’t think much of anything can be done to improve hockey sense…it’s innate, but skating can be improved on with practice.

The Kaprizov Experiment
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Appreciate the creativity, but I don't see us moving an established player like Kaprizov for a pick - even if the assumption is that whoever we take at 3 would be a star NHL'er.
I actually think Anaheim is a better partner for this than Columbus. Columbus is in a similar spot to the Wild in terms of centers and 3OA gives them the opportunity to fix that problem. Anaheim already has Zegras and McTavish, do they really need Fantilli...? They could definitely use a winger for Zegras, though, and Kaprizov would be perfect. They also have the cap space to absorb his contract.</div></div>
I have thought about Kaprizov to Anaheim for a while now. It makes sense if they want to jumpstart their rebuild AND if they are confident he will resign with them.
I get the issue with trading an established superstar for an educated guess…makes a ton of sense! My reasoning to consider moving Kaprizov is this; I am very hesitant to sign a 29 y/o to an 8 year contract and that is probably the only contract Kaprizov would consider from the Wild. Considering the way Kaprizov plays…I have a tough time seeing that contract aging well…

Would you move Gus and the Wild’s ‘23 2nd for the 14? Or Gus, Addison, and the 2nd?

Playoff Team
Doesn't sound like Goligoski is open to waiving - at least not before the year. Can always change, but Russo/Smith effectively confirmed he'd be back to open the year.
Steel gets more - he won't be qualified and thus made a UFA.
