We can't afford Kuzy this year and he'd drive Dean insane if we could

I wish there was a way to shock the fingers of everyone who creates a trade of Kuznetzov to the Wild! Nothing short of pure stupidity would allow the Wild to trade for him!

You could if you move out one of MAF or Foligno. Forgot you all have so much dead space. Just brutal.

It's about similar, but especially if Wilson at less than $3M.

You aren't wrong but I just don't see Guerin doing that. Fleury claims he wants to be here (and it's implied he wouldn't waive his NMC) and with losing Dumba in free agency I think Guerin will want to keep Foligno as a vocal leader. Kuzy is skilled but I have a feeling Dean would hate his game so much he'd make him sit in the press box half the season.

This year is the last year it really hurts, next year we have a ton of cap coming off the books with presumably a bunch of ELC players to call up and the year after that the Parise/Suter dead cap is a lot lower. I bet we'll extend Zuccarello next offseason but he shouldn't cost too much.

It's not, in any case, similar. You guys just love him way too much. No GM in their right mind would trade a point a game, game breaker for Wilson. Ever.

It's not the we love him so much, it's the league loves him so much. He's a unicorn. Every team wants him. A huge bidding war would break out. TOR is desperate and would kill to have hometown Wilson here at half price. TOR does this deal real quick, especially with Nylander holding out again. Trevling won't tolerate it much longer. Issue is Caps would never trade Wilson.

He isn't a unicorn, he's a 30-50 point grinder and he's turning 30, his best years are behind him.

No he's a ~55 point power forwards (that gets little PP time so he'd probably hit 60+) that everyone fears. Only players close to him are the Tkachuk brothers. After those 2 Wilson, is a unicorn.

Career high 52 points but I guess if we are playing this game Nylander is a 90+ point 40 goal scorer. Just Uber love for Wilson the unicorn who's just a horse with a Narwal tusk taped to his 4 head

Over the last 5 seasons (since he started to get in the top 6) he averages 54 points per 82 games, and again that's with low PP time, he'd easily hit 60 if he got PP time, especially with TOR and on Matthews wing, which is where he would play.

You can sit there and say you don't want WIlson, I wouldn't make that trade either if I was TOR, but you can't say that Wilson's return wouldn't be huge. GMs LOVE Wilson, he'd get something of value like Nylander. And like I said I can see TOR doing it because they don't want to pay him $10M, but Caps would.

But can't play 82 games because he either gets suspended a lot or hurt. And it's so telling that everyone on here is convinced that Willy is getting 10 million. Every other player in the world negotiates their deal but Willy isn't going to budge for anyone because that hurts TO eh? Typical double standard nonsense. Keep your "unicorn"

He rarely gets hurt, he just had the 1 major one last season, the rest of the seasons were COVID related.

Nyalnder is asking for $10M and the cap is about to jump like crazy so he'll get it. Doubt TOR can keep him.

You’re wasting your time trying to argue with him. This guy thinks the difference between Nylander and Wilson is a 2024 first and McMichael. He’s delusional.

They absolutely can afford Nylander. And his initial ask may have been 10 but in all negotiations the 2 side meet somewhere in the middle
