keeping team together
You would have to pay to get rid of Callahan and with where the Tampa Bay Lightning are right now, it would be worth giving something big up to get rid of his contract, as long as you are paying with picks. I can see Erne going for the bridge, and you may be able to get away with paying Point around 7.5 mil since the team is doing so well. On the note of the team doing well, I could see Stralman also taking less pay to stay with the team short term. Might keep it at 1 or 2 years though for him. Otherwise the only unrealistic possibility would have to be the Callahan deal you are proposing. I give it 4 stars. -1 star because of the Callahan trade mistake.

Trade w Edmonton and Ottawa
Fiala has had a slow start to the season so far so I do not see Oilers dumping much into him, plus they would not be able to resign Fiala in their current situation, plus giving up an overall value of 4+ Firsts (in value comparison) for Duchene who has shown to be nothing but bad luck to any team who has had him, plus others that will not do the Predators any good. Not only that trading Duchene just to get Smith will not help the Sens get any younger. This trade is not close in value nor logic. I mean it is fun to think about possibilities, but again it would have to be a possibility first. This doesn't even touch the surface of being a realistic trade. Plus the Preds already have a lot of Center depth, so that argument is not even valid. Do also keep in mind the Preds GM said they were not likely to make any big moves as they are very happy with what they've got now. They have kept true to that word so far since the trade deadline.

Barrie-Point
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>moli92</b></div><div>basically what my last 5 posts have suggested but ok.
Point for Barrie 1 for 1 is not a fair trade. Barrie has 2 years left before UFA and Point is an RFA this offseason. Point is much more valuable. In my previous posts I have suggested Point and a cap dump (Callahan) for Barrie (50% salary retained), Andrighetto, 2019 COL 1st, 2020 COL 2nd</div></div>
Colorado would not take a cap dump at this point they are hopeful playoff contenders, so they are going to look to resign the players they have, but I agree TBL wouldn't do this, but I do not see TBL being able to resign Point and/or McD so they are going to have to make a decision to go for it or make a trade before the deadline.

player for player wNYR
I could see a three way deal here as the Rangers have an abundance of defensive prospects, as long as it means they get a shiny young forward in return that is guaranteed to be between 1st and 2nd Liner status in the near future. Sending Hayes to Carolina, Faulk elsewhere, and a young & amazing forward talent to New York. A deal of this caliber could possibly work out with the Leafs who have an abundance of young forwards and a lack of defense so I could see that more happening. So Hayes to Carolina, Faulk to Toronto, & a young forward to New York depending upon who could change the deal a bit from it being a 1 for 1 for 1, but you get where I am coming from, hopefully.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>wait, this is for Dallas right? the Dallas Stars? cup contender? They're probably not going to make the playoffs. They're 100% behind the Preds, Jets, Blues, and Aves in their own division, so they'll be fighting it out for the last wildcard spot. So let's say they make the playoffs....I don't think Nash is coming out of retirement to get swept by the Preds or Jets.</div></div>
Umm.. no this is the Predators not the stars

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>looks like rick nash is retiring buddy.</div></div>
I fixed the Tolvanen Scratch as that was a mistake, but the Rick Nash signing was based on the fact that he might take a chance if he gets to go with, what is in my mind, one of the top contenders for the cup this year. But you might also be right, he more than likely will retire.

Pens - Big Trade with CHI
I think you have done a great job with this, but I just do not see Pittsburgh giving up any defense for offense because they already have that. I think it would make more sense of they were to trade a forward for a Top 4 defenseman or better.
