Does Ottawa want to get their draft pick guy
That would be a steep price to pay to move up two spots. The Habs dont want to spend another 1st on D after Guhle, Mailloux and Reinbacher the last 4 drafts.
I dont think the difference between Parekh and Yakemchuk would be big enough to spend another 1st to take the one you want. Buium, Silayev and Dickinson all there as well for Cbj if they want.

Ottawa trade is rough, genuinely think you'd be lucky to get a mid round pick back for Smith even with that money retained.

The health bit really cant be emphasized enough. He very well could have died through covid and then overcoming the mental aspects while youve been physically limited for so long.. I wouldnt wish that on anyone.
I'm a Sens fan but watch a lot of 67's game and the CHL cancelling the playoffs really took an opportunity away from Quinn and Rossi to showcase their talents on the biggest stage. Likely wouldve won the league and competed for a Memorial Cup. All that to say he's been dealt the short end of the stick consistently since he's been drafted and as much as Quinn is coveted by the Sabres and every trade involving him gets torn to shreds by Sabres fans, I think Rossi may still be better. Give him time to catch up on the missed development but i think he can do more than 55/season, very few players i root for more than him.
I know Zamula and Lauhgton are good pieces for Philly but this trade would be a steal.

Kraken Off Season 24-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I don’t know if his offensive numbers are good enough to be on line 3</div></div>
Yeah statistically his worst full year in the league, can't really speak to Seattle's season as I didnt watch them much but it seems they had him on the 4th line. To be fair to Tanev, he put up the same numbers as Burakovsky and Yamamoto just with more games played. A point more than Tatar as well so it would seem that a lot of players had down years with the Kraken.
On another note maybe theyd be a good fit for Chychrun? Dont see a lot of mock trades for him to Seattle, Dunn is solid but Dumoulin, Oleksiak and Ryker Evans doesnt seem like an ideal left side.

I'd be a bit surprised if the Sens were able to return much more than a mid 1st + one other solid piece.</div></div>
Honestly that would hurt. I like his game, hope Staios finds a way to keep him but I would understand wanting to erase some of Dorion's move to put his own stamp on the team.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DumbHockeyTrades</b></div><div>Bonk likely wouldnt move and TK for Chychrun 1-1 is pretty much fair</div></div>
Yeah Bonk might be a pipe dream but I think Ottawa would be willing to add to Chychrun if Konecny is coming back the other way.
Chychrun is younger and I think he's a hell of a player but i understand the apprehensions about his game and the perception he holds in Ottawa compared to the stability Philly has had with TK.

I don’t think Ottawa has the cap space to afford Tanev’s 3.5m on the third line.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DumbHockeyTrades</b></div><div>Id throw in a 4th if it gets that done, didnt know Pinto wanted to stay tbh. Just remember rumors about him being traded</div></div>
His exit interviews yesterday mentioned that his agent and the team are in talks right now for a long term deal of 5 or 6 years.
The trade rumours from last summer were purely from a lack of cap room. If he didn’t have the gambling suspension, which drove his asking price down considerably, the team had no room to sign him and would’ve been forced to either move him, another piece or watch him sit the season. The only space they had was for the league minimum deal he ended up signing, truly embarrassing.

I genuinely think that if you took Pinto out of the deal and left it as is on the Flyers end that the general consensus would still be that Ottawa would be better off looking elsewhere instead.
Laughton isn’t a great fit for Ottawa, don’t think that would be someone they would target at all. I personally like Frost but doubt the team would be insistent on him being the centrepiece of a deal like this for Chychrun let alone Pinto.
I do agree with the other comment above that Pinto is untouchable, It’s not a value thing, more of a situation thing in Ottawa with the way all the contracts line up.
A deal centred around Bonk or Konecny for Chychrun would be very appealing for the Sens.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>I'm just saying that the faulty premise of this ACGM is that Chychrun won't sign in Ottawa, as if he will sign in Ottawa, they'll just sign him and we won't have to worry about this trade. However, if he won't sign in Ottawa, then he also won't sign in Winnipeg, so that is also valid.
Plus as I mentioned, he'll be making too much money on his new contract to play 2 LHD in Winnipeg.</div></div>
I do think it’s possible that he’s open to sign in Ottawa but the team does not want to extend him with Chabot and Sanderson already locked in on the left side long term.
This would leave the door open for him to be moved but also be in a position where he is willing to extend with the team he’s traded to.
He would be an expensive second pairing guy so maybe Winnipeg wouldn’t be the best fit but I do think he’d be worth it.

Plus he'll be looking for 7 or 8 mil, at least, on a long term deal and that's way too much to pay for a 2 LHD to play behind Morrissey.</div></div>
He’s said multiple times that he wants to sign in Ottawa since the trade. Correct me if you’re wrong but I think what you’re referring to is the clip after the last game where he said there haven’t been any contract talks yet. The team hasn’t approached him. But if the apprehension is his willingness to sign then I hope that helps.
With that said, you can keep Kupari, Ottawa doesn’t need or want Heinola, Iafallo is okay but is he really worth 4m/year and Rashevsky seems like a huge question mark. The return would need some work for Ottawa to consider it.

Of everything on the team he’s one of the most unlikely pieces to move. The return would need to be significant.

Rakell isn't a bad player but is definitely not worth nearly as much money as he's being paid. You'll have a very hard time moving that contract even if Pittsburgh were to retain, which would be a tough pill to swallow.
In all honesty the Pens might be stuck with him if theyre not willing to view him like a cap dump.

Busy trade and I'm not sure about the 2nd going back to Buffalo but I do think UPL, Quinn and 11th this year is a good nucleus for a trade if Brady wanted out.
Definitely not a bad Brady mock trade but for sure not happening as long as Brady wants to be with the Sens.

Anderson is trash. Harris isnt trash but LD is already full in Ottawa. The difference between Caufield and Brady is a lot more than what youre giving here. Definitely doesnt help Ottawa.
Carolina also gets objectively worse with this trade while theyre in a potential window of contention.
The only team both of these trades is good for is Montreal.

Hopeful Summer
The 1st would likely need to be this years instead of the '25 1st, Atkinson doesnt really boost the value of the return and Zamula wouldnt really help the Sens either as a LD so I. dont think the nucleus of this deal works. I saw some Konecny for Chychrun swaps on here from Flyers fans which I think would be interesting with Konecny;s Ottawa ties from junior and the sens need for top 6 wingers. Both oending ufas too.
But if a package built around Bonk was tabled I think the Sens would be all ears. The last name on top of the positional need would have them hooked for sure.

Retooooooooooool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>Jensen is being moved to make room for Iorio. Zub isnt being moved bc Sens are dog**** at RSD. Id argue that Ceci would be an upgrade on the side. When you have too much of something and need to open cap space you generational move the older player or did i miss something? Like why would Philly move Walker when he was superior and arguably one of their 3 best overall defenders? Why did La move Durzi? i can go on and on with examples but Washington SHOULD look to move him or TVR to open a spot for a young player looking for a roster spot
Capitals want to compete they need to add significantly to their top 6.</div></div>
Ceci is a third pairing RD that can be insulated when moving up to a second pair role. Ceci needs insulation, Zub IS the insulation for other players moving up and down. Every single sens dman plays their best when theyre on the ice for Zub, the preferred partner for every single Senator. Chychrun, Sanderson, Chabot and Brannstrom. It's a lot easier to be a bad player and go to a good team that can help hide a lot of your weaknesses than it is to be a good player on a bad team that cant help you hide weaknesses and also actively puts you in a bad situations that should make you look worse. You couldnt get Zub from Ottawa for the same 1st and a 3rd that you want for these three and thats without retention. He stands out on a bad team so it's only fair to assume he'd look even better on a good one. Also as a side not I would bet real money that Ceci wouldnt get into the lineup over JBD in Ottawa, Edmonton makes him look like he's not bad but theres a reason Ottawa, Toronto and Pittsburgh didnt want him.
If you think Jensen and Ceci are equivalent then thats all I need to hear on Jensen. But if this trade is supposed to be a cap dump then the fact that you're willing to retain 4m over the next two years on Jensen should also speak to his value. Your argument is circular, saying that Jensen is a valuable middle 4 piece but again if he was valuable to the team in his role then why move him out to make room for Iorio? If he carried value like zub then you would be looking elsewhere to cut salary or make room.
Walker was moved because hes a rental and likely goes to free agency this year, philly realised they couldnt re-sign him. LA moved Durzi because they had better options and already went to arb once with him after they picked him up from Toronto and also wanted to clear space for the PLD trade. Neither are good comparisons but thats doesnt mean I dont agree that Washington should move on from TVR or Jensen.
Best of luck to the Captials if they do choose to move on from any of these players but i do hope Ottawa isnt invloved with any of them.
