1 season of Miller doesn't have that kind of value either. He's just a rental at this point, his value dropped significantly. We saw in the Fiala trade what a reasonable expectation looks like and then consider he doesn't have the term.

TOR Trade and Draft Shock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Devsfan25</b></div><div>Provided my reasons here</div></div>
The unfortunate part of Leafs ACGM (And many other teams, but the Leafs are one of the largest groups here) is that you're guaranteed to see someone from the "NYLANDER IS SOFT!!!" crowd go off and trade 2 years of a point per game player for peanuts because they simply don't like him, which is kind of a shame. Honestly, if he was on any other team, that same group would be doing daily posts about trading FOR him.
At the end of the day, Blackwood was pretty much on par with Mrazek last year (both had injury issues, but both were BAD), Severson continues to be solid, but when you're a contending team, you don't move multiple years of Nylander to rent Severson...and 37 OA *SHOULD* have zero interest to the Leafs. Getting picks and/or prospects should have zero interest to them if it means actively making their team worse.
Holl is better than Dermott and Hamonic, both of whom netted a 3rd as their return, so aside from the hilarious dislike that capfriendly users seem to have for him, there's really no reason why there wouldn't be interest.

TOR Trade and Draft Shock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheNewAge</b></div><div>You've seen Leafs fans propose Nylander for a goalie who just put up a .892, an expiring contract and a second rounder? Lol...... maybe a few years ago but not anymore. Nylander isn't going anywhere. That's a certainty. Justin Holl is fine at 2M. Rather him than Severson considering the cost of acquisition.
I also think you are significantly underrating Justin Holl. He is not a cap dump. Some team will pay to get him. I guarantee you that. Like your idea of taking Nemec at 2 though</div></div>
In fairness, there are still silly Nylander trades done by that weird portion of Leafs fans who don't like nice things...Not that it makes it right, but just pointing out that the "hE sHoUlD hAvE tAkEn ThE hIt At ThE eNd Of HiS sHiFt AgAiNsT tAmPa BeCaUsE wInNeRs Do ThAt!!!" crowd is loud and proud.

Golly. Do they score at a 40 point pace every year and play quality all around hockey? Kerfy was an analytical selke finalist recently, elite shot suppressor.
I'd say he might be the best non stutzle C in the org currently (BTkachuk exempt naturally). I dunno if any other C can generate what I described there ^
Logan Brown definitely has potential to get there and beyond. But not by much honestly. White seems a safe bet to at least equal him and Norris is promising.

Lou-Like Off Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheNewAge</b></div><div>I dont think the Flames would want Hickey honestly. Yes they'll probably lose Brodie and Hamonic but with Valimaki back in the fold, and assuming they keep Gio and Hanifin (despite all the trade talk around him), they got no real need for him. That 2M would be spent better elsewhere (perhaps towards a goalie?)
Leddy to the Kings makes sense, especially at that price. Dude can still play defense, and has like 2 years left, so it wouldnt be much of a burden to the Kings considering their financial situation. They also need defenseman to use as a stop-gap for their prospects after trading Muzzin and Martinez over the past two years. I do think they can leverage a 6th or 7th out of New York though (every draft pick counts).
I think Pulock AAV goes higher, Barzal deal makes sense to me considering the recent trend of RFAS signing bridge deals, and I think Toews would come in higher too. I do see Greene and Martin back in NY aswell. Bobby Ryan is interesting, I think he'd appreciate a culture like the Isles. But I do think he gets more than league min.
Komarov for Gaborik is interesting, the question for me is how much Leo is getting paid in actual cash considering Melnylk. I think the fit is there especially considering the connection between DJ Smith and him dating back to their Toronto days but I dont necessarily think Melnyk would do it. Dorion did give the Leafs a third for paying Zaitsevs signing bonus.
Honestly, I think the best move for the Isles would be to rid themselves of Boychuk and maybe even Clutterbuck (theyd probably retain on Clutterbuck) in the same trade. I dont like trading firsts to get rid of contracts especially after how the Marleau trade went down for us, but it might be worth a shot.
Quick question: Hows Oliver Wahlstrom coming along? Just curious to where he is.</div></div>
Wahlstrom seems to have found his scoring touch a little more in the SHL, over in Europe, I think he might get a few games as a fill in like last year but I think he is another full season away from getting a real look at becoming an everyday player, unless of course injury’s force the islanders hand. I think once he is in he will slot as the 3RW unless the isles decide to move eberle (who’s NTC modifies next year) or Bailey in the 2-3 seasons.

We have no want for Anderson in Vancouver. Stecher will cost 3.35x 3/4 IMO. If you want him, we will do it for picks.

Also, I feel like Dermott's contract is a bit high, and Engvall is a bit low. Take 500k from Dermott and give it to Pierre.

Tavares Signing killed Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheNewAge</b></div><div>Dont need a Sabre fan telling us what a bad contract is.</div></div>
How can you say that? Take Skinner he cost 2m less Tavares, at 9m X 8 and is on pace for 40 points. And some Leaf haters think Nylander is overpaid at 7m. Okposo a RW gets paid just 6m, and the Sabres have got 4 goals and 4 assists in his 31 games. So the Sabres have 3m more cap space when you compare those two signings.

Since the switch to Keefe he has 12 points in his last 17 games. 14 in his last 18 overall. I hope the leafs aren't dumb enough to sign him for 7-8M but i think someone out there will. If tyler myers got 6M Barrie can get 7-8. Maybe GMs will hold out on on length and he will have to take a 5-6 year deal but i think someone will be dumb enough to give him big money. just as im typing this he got another assist on a late game matthews goal so thats 13 in his last 17 games lol. Maybe he gets another point in OT and ill have to update this.

Before the hiring of Keefe, Barrie might have been worse Leaf Dman. Somehow since July, Ceci has the whipping boy for Leafs fans. Since Keefe. Barrie has been good, Holl has been good and Ceci...even if was poor under Babcock is certainly OK now. I'm not a big fan of "numbering" defence pair. But if Dermot and Ceci are number 3....that seem quite acceptable right now.
