Just an idea

I also think I’d rather move trocheck instead of staal in the jets deal. I think staal provides a defensive game that can not be replaced</div></div>
Yeah I was really torn to trade staal but he really disappointed me in the playoffs this year. He is by far and away our best defensive forward but he just hasn't produced like I expected him to. I agree with the necas take. I think if he comes to camp beefed up from last year I wouldn't mind seeing him down the middle and see where he's at.

I posted what the value for Bishop was about a week ago and a lot of people said a second rnd is the highest anyone should pay because of his injury history.

Is Ben Bishop on the Market
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buffbry</b></div><div>I wasn't trying to be disrespectful either, sorry if it came off that way. My take is, your logic is true for a playoff team, but currently in a flat cap, cut cost world the red wings have a ton of cap space and are going to use it as a weapon. They aren't competing this year, so taking on any contacts would only happen if they were compensated. This is why I think Carolina trades him elsewhere or pays us to take him.</div></div>
Yeah I didn't think you were disrespectful, and I see your point. I just thought that DET was weak on D and thought Gards would be an upgrade for their D. But you make a good point about it being a flat cap world and how teams might use their cap space as a weapon for team up against it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buffbry</b></div><div>Wings pass, if you want to dump that contract you have to pay us to take it, not the other way around</div></div>
Its not a bad contract. Its 4 million for 3 more years, If you look at what D-man are signing for it doesn't look bad at all. When you guys pay 8+ million for Krug for 6-8 years we'll see how that ages. When you look at past contracts that DET has dished out it makes Gards look like an absolute steal. No disrespect though, I just don't agree that it is a bad contract.

No more then a 4th at best, He hasn't been all that wonderful in Carolina and is definitely overpaid.</div></div>
I agree he wasn't all that awesome but he did turn things around and looked more comfortable as the season progressed. I disagree though that he's overpaid, he only makes 4 million which isn't all that bad for a D-man

Yeah I didn't know how much it'd take. Because he does have a decent contract and in my opinion is a top 5 goalie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Oh and mckeown will probably be the 7 D over Carrick</div></div>
Not a chance I can see because Carrick is more seasoned while Mckeown is younger and should be getting more minutes in Charlotte to help in his development rather than him only play <30 games with long stretches of not playing at all

You're right, completely forgot about Skinner with all these trade rumors, but Ferland did put up 21 goals last year and is a big body in front of the net I'd probably switch Skinner for Williams. What do you think?

Potential Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>It’s almost certain Zykov will play with Necas and Svechnikov and Skinner Aho Teräväinen will be a line. I also don’t think Ferland makes the PP</div></div>
I don't think so considering how well Zykov played with Aho and Tevo and because Zykov can win board battles which whoever is on Aho's line will need to do.
