Guessing everybody's trade lists for the 2022-2023 season
This is more of a speculated list than their actual list.
The state of Florida has no income tax, why would Draisaitl block Florida teams where he could potentially benefit from making more money as a professional athlete?
Not to mention both teams are well run orgs that are closer to winning the cup. The same could be said about Colorado.
If this is Draisaitl's trade list, it should be a list based on his <strong>preference and perspective</strong> as where he wants to be traded to.

Xavier Bourgault Thread
I didn't see any thread for this Oilers prospect so here it is. :squinty
Watch him in the QMJHL playoffs against Charlottetown. His team is up 3-1 in the series. He's one of the leaders in goal scoring and top 10 in the playoffs points leader. He wants to be in the Memorial Cup, support him and his team.

What should the Oilers do at the Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilersguy</b></div><div>I agree with you about Trading down I was thinking maybe they could trade for the Krakens 35th and 61st picks. But I really think with their first pick they need to pick a RD, because other then Broberg all of the Dmen prospects the Oilers have are projected to be bottom pair/depth Dmen, I think they should pick someone like Elias Salomonsson or Seamus Casey</div></div>
Assuming that either Salomonsson or Casey are still available when the Oilers pick. But what are the chances either player are still on the board? You can never have enough Ds in the prospect pool, especially RDs. There's just so many teams picking ahead of the Oilers which makes it challenging.
Seattle would be a good target to trade down but I'm not sure how realistic that is considering they're not only a divisional rival but also an expansion team with a bare prospect pool.

What should the Oilers do at the Draft
I'm willing to bet that Tyler Wright and their amateur scouting staff will trade down to recoup lost assets with another team. The Oilers are missing a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round selection in the upcoming draft. A trade down to pick in the 2nd and 3rd or 2nd and 4th would be ideal. I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to trade down in the scenario that their desired prospect goes off the board. With the example of obtaining a 2nd and an additional pick in either the 3rd or 4th round, that 2nd could also be traded down to having a 3rd and 4th pick. The point is to create more picks in the later rounds that started with a single late 1st round pick. And they still have picks in rounds 5, 6, and 7.
All that being said, my philosophy on this year's draft is... draft by best player available instead of drafting by need (with some exceptions to the goalie position). Considering how late the picks are and they're not certain to make it to the NHL, get the best player whether its a F, D, or G(again with some exceptions). Fill up any need via trades or free agency.
The Oilers have a good mix of F and D prospects in the system, but light on the G prospect. Broberg and Niemelainen should see more time in the NHL. Samorukov will either be with the team in the fall or be traded in the off season since he is not waiver eligible anymore. Oilers still hold the rights to defencemens, Luca Münzenberger and Max Wanner, they haven't been offered contracts yet. They haven't selected a goalie since picking Konovalov from the 2019 draft, and he's recently departed for the KHL. So it's expected that they'll select a goalie with one of the picks in this year's draft.

Mikko Koskinen to play in HC Lugano

Jesse Puljujarvi is going to have a huge year read description
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilersguy</b></div><div>I made this in the 2021 season btw, but yeah I am not completely against trading him for a good dmen on a really good contract</div></div>
I think if the Bison King wants to stay on a small bridge deal we could look at different options to alleviate some cap by dumping Barrie and/or Kassian. Although, I would prefer to keep Kassian for his toughness, he doesn't play that role anymore. The same with Barrie, he's a good vet D with an offensive instinct, his contract might be better served to either allocate salary cap to re-sign the guys I've mentioned above or flip him for a shut down D at lower cap hit. Which is what the Oils lack right now.
I think it was a mistake from Holland to let Kulikov walk. I'm liking Kulak right now but if Holland had kept Kulikov we wouldn't be trading a conditional 2nd for Kulak.

I'm not even sure if he'll be here next season with the salary cap being so tight. Kane, Yamo, and McLeod all need to be re-signed as well.

Edmonton Prospect watch
I've kept track of both players and watched a lot of Wisconsin Badgers when Holloway was with the team. I've seen Bourgault's twitter hilights and Youtube vids and limited pre-season games with the Oilers.
Xavier Bourgault is going to be a first line player for the Oilers. He has all the tools and skills to do so. Possesses a great shot, great passing ability, elite skating ability, elite hockey IQ, elite vision, puck skills, board battles, very elusive, trains like a pro NHL player, and he's a line driver.
Holloway is more blue collar than Bourgault. He's got elite skating, plays physical, north-south game, great passing, intangibles, brings a lot of energy and compete level. He's more of a complimentary player to a line that supports guys like Leon or Connor. He can be used up and down the line up and he's versatile. He hasn't scored as much in the AHL, I believe that's due to recovery with his scaphoid injury. He had a wicked shot as he was the one timer option with Wisconsin on the PP.
