Sanderson Performance Bonus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TkachukNorris79</b></div><div>Straight from this very website:
"Performance bonuses count against the salary cap; however, a team can exceed the salary cap due to performance bonuses by the maximum performance bonus cushion amount of 7.5 percent of the upper limit."
I'm not sure how Norris' LTIR factors in but I don't think Sanderson's performance bonuses factor in at all, and if they do Staios would be wise to just play the last 19 games with a trimmed roster as opposed to carrying over that $1M hit to next year.</div></div>
Thank you, I did not know about the 7.5% upper limit. But I believe how it works from what I read is since Norris is on LTIR, his cap hit will be used as part of that calculation. I am not sure if the team is allowed to say something like, if we had Norris on the roster they could trim the roster down to be well below the cap ceiling. I am just assuming the worst to not be caught off guard. I would be very happy if the Sens didn't have this carry over, because that would essentially allow them to burry Hamonic as a scratch all year unless they can trade him (99% doubt).

Staios doesn't want to be fired after his first trade so he said no. if Chychrun doesn't want to resign for a reasonable number I'd give you
Chychrun, 2nd and prospect
for
Karalson (25% retention)
Not great for the Pens, but sorry you want to move that contract it ain't gonna be easy.

I love Saros but goalies don't usually get this much in a trade. Ottawa's 1st could be top 5 and it isn't protected in this trade here. Pinto is also part of the core and they're looking to extend him.

Rangers paid that price for Tarasenko last year and didn’t like the return on investment. No reason to do it again. Ottawa should extend him if possible

Frisky Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SHOWTIME_TTV</b></div><div>WTF are you talking about?... A 1st would do it. Ceci has another year, Holloway is taking a big step and worth keeping as a cheap replacement who can play up the lineup next season. The kid could be a top 6 NHLer in a couple years. Who are you watching?
Ceci + 1st + 6th is an overpay!</div></div>
I'm aware he has 1 more year, he would 100% be a cap dump, exactly why we don't want him. It's not enough to trade with Edmonton period. I agree Holloway has potential exactly why he needs to be included to make this happen. Edmonton is no good.

Kings fans how we feeling about this trade
Reports are that the LAK no longer has any interest in Jakob Chychrun. And reports are that Matt Roy has zero interest in playing in Canada. There's more of a likelihood of Roy coming home to Detroit than signing in Ottawa.

Roy is more important that Chychrun for LA for this season.
LA has Spence and Clarke long term, with the acquisition of Gavrikov, LAs interest in Chychrun has waned.

They have a lot of space and can sign him longterm. They were going to do a 1 year minimum for this year either way

Nah. He got suspended just before he was about to sign a bridge. He signed the current deal because he wants to get back to playing without forcing Sens to trade anyone.
Per actual insiders, they are already working on an extension.
Furthermore, reports were at the time, again from insiders, that Pinto was very much appreciative of how the Sens handled the situation. Couple that wth the GM and VPOHO praising him and his game, I sincerely doubt he gets moved unless it's a ridiculous overpay.
Finally, your comparison with Monahan is flawed. Leaving point totals aside (Pinto has barely played this season), Monahan is a UFA vs Pinto a young C with many years of team control.

Fan of neither team. Would much rather have Tkachuk at his price tag and all the other pieces than Pettersson at $12-13M per though.

No. Brady at $8.2m vs the $12.5m Pettersson is going to cost is debatable. Throwing all that other stuff on top is asinine.
