Trades at the Deadline
Good trades value wise, but why would CHI want Cole? They aren’t going to make the playoffs and are giving up a highest pick. Also, Sharp isn’t the type of player we need. We need a LW who is fast and physical(Kane, Hoffman, Pacioretty). We only need that LW if we don’t acquire Pageau/Faksa.

My source says otherwise . . .
Matt Cullen has informed MIN management that if he is traded, that he wants it to be PIT. MIN has respect for Cullen and aren’t going to upset him(hint hint) because of Cullen’s future after hockey with MIN.

Can we do this?
Yeah DD is a solid replacement for an injured top 6 center but play him down in the lineup and he starts to fade. He's a one trick pony albeit can be really good at that one thing however. I agree Pitts needs a responsible defensive center capable of winning key faceoffs and playing hard minutes.
I wonder who is a pending UFA that fits that bill? ....Hmm nope can't think of one. :laugh

BIG trade with AZ
Letang and Malkin aren't waiving for Arizona never in a million years and i doubt the Yotes have much interest either.

This IS The Solution (A Carolina Trade)
No, that CAR isn’t a solution. Ryan is nothing more than a UFA 3C, and you are giving up Sheary AND a 1st for him? None sense. I’d give up a 2nd for him, though. He’s a good target if only Plekenac is available. If Ryan was younger and on a better contract, I’d do that trade.

Let’s Do It
I just can’t get over how bad these deals are. The Canucks not only get the better players who are cheaper, and Conor Sheary is by far better than Gagne and it’s not even close, but they get 2 picks added on. They would be foolish to not take that and GMJR should be fired and stripped of his rings for even proposing such a trade. No offense.

So get an overpaid pending UFA defenseman to replace another overpaid pending UFA defenseman, then flip Oleksiak to the side he is least comfortable on and trade a defenseman the pens just signed because he is the flavor of the month to scape goat. Brilliant

Claim Jussi and Wednesdays line up
Unless he is being tried out as a 3rd line C, then he is useless for the pens.

A move I’d make
Only way this is fair is if Cole does a sign and trade. Sheary isn’t even having a horrible year either. He is scoring pretty decently for being on the 3rd line a lot. I think all the flipping of lines every 20 minutes has hurt everyone tbh. The only 2 they keep together is Malkin and Kessel and they are the only ones consistently producing.

Yup and that still doesn't change the fact that saying he's crappy isn't true. He's a good player. You just don't like him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonnnycanuck44</b></div><div>Yeah that's not bad... but I don't know if we would want to give him up he's showing that he can score but he would fit in pretty nicely in Pittsburg</div></div>
As a 3rd line center? Terrible face offs, limited D ... simply a scoring center. Personally I'd move him to wing ... but not in Pittsburgh. I'd go get a real 2 way center like Bonino and Cullen were.
Why are you chasing winger prospects when Pens have so many?
Why trade Wilson? He's the closes thing you're roster has to a 3C. Why not trade Kuhnhackl rather then changing him to the LW and hoping he can play it?
And why the hell would you want Markov at 38yrs old and $4.5m?
You're not meeting the teams actual needs. 2 way player for 3rd and maybe 4th center, and we're weak at C and D prospects. Not at Wing.

Fleury is gone
Severely undervalued Duchene, overvalued Maatta, and that defense is atrocious. Pouliot in the top 4? When he can't beat our Ruhwedel or Gaunce this year? Yeah not gonna happen.

Getting a first rounder
calgary doesnt pay up two 2nds for fleury. pick 35 would be the max and maybe a goalie prospect.
why are the habs giving away a kid who just scored 30, a 1st,2nd and prospect for a d prospect that can play D, and lesser picks?
why is chicago moving a cheap dman for a guy who needs to be qualified at 4+million.
terrible
