<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HoffmanisKing</b></div><div>Acc im not LarkinisKing. And what i meant was that STL has a lot more assets to offer for hoffman. And how is that fair value for Hoffman? Your giving two not so good prospects, a old winger that can barely stay healthy and never puts up points, and a probably late first round pick. No thanks.</div></div>

Vesalainen is not a "not so good prospect" he's actually a very good prospect who's doing very well in a Mens league over seas (2nd on team scoring and if he didn't play 9 games last year would be leading rookie scoring) at 19 in a Mens' league. Stanley is a bit of a project and might need a year or two yet but jury is still out on whether or not he's "not a good prospect" just yet. Mattais you're right...is an absolute CAP dump said as much above. A late 1st is still a 1st and would give OTT 2 this year or maybe more if they move Karlsson. The 1st you'll get from STL will be in the same range so...there's that too. Again you're going off assumptions that STL has actually made an offer better than that.
Historically these kinds of trades NEVER bring back as much as the fans assume they will.
-TJ Oshie with 1.5 years left got Brower, Copley and a 3rd
-Kyle Palmeri got a 2nd and a 3rd in trade to NJ

Those are two similar circumstances with wingers producing similar point totals and their returns. The Oshie deal is the most comparable and Brower, Copley and a 3rd is NOT AS GOOD as Vesalainen, Stanley, Mattais and a 1st. Wonder why it is fans always think deals cost more than they really do!
