I'm not sure Toronto does have "much better goaltending." Andersen has a better Sv% this season, but Rask has a better GAA, so I'd say they're fairly comparable. If anything, I'd say the goaltending advantage goes to Boston, as Halak (the backup) has better numbers than both of them. And while you could say that Rask was losing his job to Halak back in early November, that is certainly not the case anymore.

If anything I'd say Marchand is underrated defensively.
And I agree that while Pasta isn't the strongest defensively, he isn't awful either.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pasha123</b></div><div>It could be but also Marchands point totals started to take off more when he played more with Pastrnak. His defensive zone coverage is poor out of the three he leaves the earliest, loses his man more often, makes the most mistakes in defensive zone exits either blunders with a poor choice first pass exit or as mentioned exits too soon. Luckily PB is a wiz and Pastrnak is no slouch, they cover up for his Blunders and are more aware of what is happening. In the o zone he doesn't attack as well as before, doesn't retrieve as many pucks as Pastrnak it also seems that Pastrnak and Bergeron do more of the work they seem to us him less.</div></div>
I would argue that Marchand is actually very solid defensively, and much more so than Pastrnak. Marchand has many more years of experience and has played on the PK his entire career while Pasta has yet to record a shorthanded point. If playing the PK is not an indication of defensive prowess, I'm not sure what is, unless the Bruins' management has been overvaluing Marchand for the last 7 years.
What constitutes "attacking well," and what do you mean by "retrieving pucks?" And what do you mean by "before?"
I'm not trying to claim that Marchand is head and shoulders above Pastrnak, nor that Pasta is way better than Marchand. Rather, I'm questioning your analysis that Pasta is a driving force behind Marchand's success, as I think exactly the opposite is true.

Actually, Marchand is half the reason Pastrnak is elite now (the other half being Bergeron, of course), not the other way around, and he was a good player before Pasta even came into the league.
What "little things" does he do poorly?

Best TV Commentators in the NHL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>I don't think he's overly biased actually, maybe a little over the top though. I just don't like his voice that much. On big plays I feel like he's yelling/barking at me. He needs to work on his timing and sense of drama. A 1st period goal surely isn't as dramatic as an OT GWG! He just needs to chill out a bit. John Forslund is the best at adding drama and tension w/o forcing it. The best announcers don't create the drama, they let the game do it for them and simply facilitate. I love Forslund's trademark catchphrases like, "And Cariolina is off and running" or "That's hockey baby!"</div></div>
Sure he's not perfect, but does that mean he's "terrible?"
And he's got plenty of catchphrases of his own :)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyRebound</b></div><div>A common misconception is that Krug is not defensively sound. If you watch Krug, he actually has pretty fair awareness in his own end and even though he does get caught every now and then, so do even the best D-men in the NHL. I think its the fact he's labeled as an offensive defenseman that makes people automatically think he can't play in his own end.
Would I say he's a great player in his own end? Probably not, but he's not a player who you're ever worried about holding their own in their end so I think it's a bit unfair to consider him a liability on defense.</div></div>
Agreed. I didn't mean to imply Krug is a defensive liability, rather he shouldn't be played as a top pairing d-man.

Maybe. But while Krug is dangerous on the PP, he is not always very sound defensively. Heinen had an excellent rookie year but has since slumped hard. Senyshyn has not even played an NHL game yet. It may not be by a huge margin, but I think Boston wins this trade.

I agree he's been good, but not better than Grizz, Carlo, or McAvoy, and as I said in the description, Moore and Miller could be swapped.

Lines when healthy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>Boston is doing Donato a disservice putting him on a 3rd line. He's just not that kind of player. They should put him on the 1st line RW with Brad or DeBrusk and Bergy. Bergy will win the face offs and keep them in possession of the puck and hopefully in the offensive zone and help hide any defensive issues. The kids a goal scorer, sticking him down on lines that lack the high end talent isn't gonna help him. And for what, to play Bjork there who has 1 goal in like 20 some games. It's a total waste. They are gonna end up trading him if they don't use him and they won't get the return people would think for him when they do at this rate.</div></div>
All valid points. My reasoning was that I've liked the look of the "kid line" he past few games. Obviously scratching JFK vs Nashville didn't help very much, but I'd like to keep that line together for the time being. As for Bjork, he played with Bergy and Marchy at the beginning of last year before his injury to some success, and I think he deserves another shot in that spot. If he doesn't pan out, however, Donato is the next man up in my opinion.

I don't trade Moore because the UFA ramifications; What player would want to sign with your team if you bid on them if you're just going to turn around and trade them before even a full season has passed? It'd just look really bad to move Moore even though I like Grzelcyk better.
I hope the pairings end up:
Chara/ McAvoy
Grzelcyk / Carlo or Moore
Krug / Carlo or Moore
I just have a felling management loves Kevan Miller and the dependable no thrills game he brings.</div></div>
You're totally right. It would be a pretty unpleasant trade if Moore is moved. But with all the injuries this year, we have seen that the young D who weren't expected to be NHL ready (Vaak, Lauzon, Clifton) can definitely hold their own and I just don't think Moore is needed anymore. It won't happen, but I think it makes a lot of sense disregarding the morality of it all.
And even then we still have an extra D man in Miller... I suppose this is a good problem to have.

I really like Grizz, and I think the bruins should hold on to him rather than lose him for a rental. He takes Chara’s spot next year if the big man decides to retire and maybe slots into the first PP unit if krug is moved. I’d rather trade someone like Moore over Grizz.

I really hope Bjork steps up his game soon. I wanted him to get a look playing on the top line, but of course Bergeron got injured... Hopefully Bjork will get a chance to prove himself as a legit top 6 forward when Bergy returns.
