The idea is that maybe he'll get a spark playing with Mrchand, but yeah, not ideal. I guess Nordstrom would replace him, but that isn't really an ideal solution either, imo.

This is probably not an accurate representation of skill, rather it estimates the impact each individual player has had on their team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Owentheguy</b></div><div>Lol yes totally.
You give away an alright prospect and someone who is working on their all around game, three high end pics this year and a second next to get an elite youn physical goal scorer. He’s a rare breed. He can help now and in the future. You have to overpay for him because Detroit dosent want to give him away.</div></div>
I think that Donato himself has the potential to turn into an elite young goal scorer who will help in the future. I don't think Boston needs to be a "win now" team this year.
Also you're now over the cap.

No thank you. This is a huge overpayment.

Timo Trade
I may be in the minority, but I don't think the Bruins should consider trading Donato. He showed flashes of brilliance last year, and if he works on his defensive game in Providence I think he will be a big part of the team's future.

They're hoping to get him going a little bit while seeing what Connor can do without Scheif and Wheeler. He'll still get some minutes out there with them. So I guess for now they aren't currently a line. Would not doubt that they will be back together soon.</div></div>
Unfortunately the line is just over 500k too expensive.

Best Lines in the NHL
I've added Gourde/Point/Johnson as per jasalex's suggestion and replaced Ferland/Aho/Teräväinen, which allowed me to switch out Spurgeon/Dumba for Slavin/Hamilton. I've also added Gibson/Miller, as it makes more sense to have a goalie tandem from the same team (thanks for the idea BluesGetTheCup), and they have been one of the best to start the season.

Best Lines in the NHL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenGoater99</b></div><div>Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel is better than the Leafs and Canes' lines</div></div>
I agree, but they're too expensive. Also, as noted above, Hagelin is no longer a Penguin.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BluesGetTheCup</b></div><div>I don't think Spurgeon and Dumba play on the same line. Also, with this logic shouldn't the goalies have to be the best tandem? Which might at the moment be Greiss and Lehner. Oddly enough...</div></div>
Dang. Is it Dumba/Suter? If so, there might be a better pairing out there.
My logic was to consider starter/backup as different "lines," but it could definitely work either way.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jasalex</b></div><div>I think TB Gourde-Point-Johnson line deserves placement. It is their shutdown line, salary 6.6 mill and they have 24 goals, 30 assists and a plus +15 rating. Last year playoff against Boston that shutdown the Bergy-Pasta-Marsh machine.</div></div>
Good call! But are they worth replacing Vasilevskiy?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJonSnow</b></div><div>Connor - Scheif - Wheeler Is my recommendation</div></div>

Seriously though, as a Boston fan, I was terrified whenever Colorado’s top line was on the ice last night. They completely overwhelmed the Bruins.

No way Boston would pay 2 1sts and Heinen for only a slight improvement over Backes. He doesn't even fill the hole at RW. With that price you might as well get Panarin or Nylander and some.

Creative 3-way Nylander deal
Unless I'm missing something, it seems like TOR could trade Nylander one-for-one for Pietrangelo from STL and not give up a 2nd to Boston. Then Boston just trades Carlo, Frederic, a 1st and a 2nd for Schwartz (which is an awful trade, imo).

Agreed. Heinen looks like he might be finding his groove and developing some chemistry with Bjork. 'Twas a beautiful goal last night against Vegas, and hopefully it will boost their confidence. If they get stuck again, I would love to see Bjork get a few games in with Bergy and Marchy, moving Pasta to the second line. I also think Acciari should be in over Backes, and I'm curious as to why he got scratched. I thought he had been playing well lately.
And sheesh, look at that IR list. This team will get considerably better when Mac and Carlo return.

Bostons Winter Classic Jersey is a thing of BEAUTY
Boston should NOT trade their best offensive D-man and PP QB for a third-line center who may or may not be a rental. And if he isn't, they don't get the 2nd round pick! Krug's value to Boston is more than a 2nd and Hayes combined, and way more than each individually, in my opinion.
But yeah, those jerseys are sick.
