Another Laffy to MTL ACGM
Goodrow for Anderson (2m retained) is an interesting idea since they've been comparably valued the last few seasons.
Edge might go to Goodrow for position, but it's close.

I don't think that Isles trade is too much of a stretch, but I bet it'll still be ridiculed, probably bc they'll say they're fine on RD

Would you give up Slafkovsky for Braden Schneider, Jimmy Vesey, 2x2nd and a 7th? That is close to what you just did there...

Montreal just figured out it's forward log jam, they aren't taking on any more forwards this off season

Moves
Don't understand the logic of buying out Hoffman. If you want to play young players, just demote Hoffman and still have lots of cap for this season, and not worry about his buyout cap next season.

Devils accept, but I think Hellebuyck will start the year with Winnipeg.
I don't know if Boston fans are gonna like that trade, but I also think it would be more shrewd to just offer sheet Swayman and trade Scheifele elsewhere.

Beau
It's not an ideal fit, but the Canucks probably do this IMO.
I find it silly to base everything on advanced stats, especially on the leagues best or worst teams. Getting a prime age 3C who can play all situations for just Beauvillier would be a good move, and create much better depth down the middle.

Dvo isn’t an awful contract. He might be 1 million overpaid, but he is still a 35 point 3c. Myers is an awful contract. 6 million for a third pairing guy is just atrocious

Montreal doesn't view him as a cap dump and don't need the cap space. Canucks fans can claim its a benefit for as long as they want, its not and its not going to induce Montreal to help with the Canucks cap crunch or almost non-existent center depth outside of Pettersson and Miller.

for Montreal, we need to keep Dvorak (if we don't get anything good) as Monahan is still fragile and only sign for one year.
Dvo filled the 3C spot perfectly has Newhook fit better on the wings (that Mtl have way tooooo many)

Dvo is a decent 3C (30-35pts per year) @ 4M$ like any other avrg 3C... Need more in return to sell out Dvorak, Habs paid 1st + 2nd... so at least a 2nd for him or Habs keep him.
This return is great to get one of Armia or Hawfullman

Hertl just sign in SJ and staying there... otherwise keep him and run

Lets make a deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PensGMwannabe</b></div><div>Pens easily decline. If you're offering a 4th line forward and 6th d man to dump Granlund. Pens will just buy him out for $833K toward the cap this season. Bad trade offer.</div></div>
You have also easily decided to ignore the 1.833M in the following 3 years starting in 2024. Its not 800k. That is only this season. 2M dead cap each season in the cup window isnt agreeable.
Its a more than reasonable deal when Theathletic mock draft is trading the same 14 overall pick for the 31st pick. 2 2nds and a 3rd plus two useful pieces, You'd be a really bad manager not get rid of that dead cap at that price.

Long time CHI fan who remembers the 6-8 years of Cap Hell...even guys who are talented will cost something to unload. It's not that they can't play, it's that the rest of the league knows they can put the screws to a team with no cap wiggle room. It's one of the costs of being a great team like BOS is right now.
