Retooling Next season
Lankinen doesn't get a 1 way and if he does it'll be a $925,000x1. Kubalik is one goal away from 30 in his rookie season so maybe a bridge deal at that rate but not a 3 year deal

Already has 30 points and is only 27 years old. Seems like a good deal to me.

Giving up up too much for Ehlers, overpay on the Edmundson contract. He shouldn't get paid more than 3.5 and thats still high.

Don't think Grzelcyk is worth 3 mil nor do I think he'll ask for that much. Max he'll get is most likely around 2.7.

A Question answered with a theory
Great analysis and I agree with most of it. The Nylander trade was done because the Hawks realized they found a late gem in Jokihauru and wanted to move him before a potential drop in value like we've seen this season. Nylander has shown flashes of promise and he's still young so don't count him out yet. I think the front office is looking for size as seen by the drafting of Dach, the trade for Nylander, Maatta, Smith, and even Shaw who even though is small plays like a giant. Turcotte has got a ways to go in terms of development and there were some concerns that his stats were inflated due to the fact he was playing alongside such elite talent.

Deadline
Don't think sikura is worth much. He's a bottom six role player but maybe a change of scenery would be good for him. I like manson a lot and think he would be good for the Hawks but De Haan plays a similar game and with Murphy, De Haan, and Maatta all being more defensive dmen, I think that the trade would be overkill. A better trade would be Maatta and Sikura for Manson and maybe a 4th round pick. in regards to the Gus trade, I don't think Carolina is the right team to trade with. They have a plethora of young defenseman and a relatively strong d core as is. A team like WPG or TOR would probably be better and the return could be higher from one of those teams as well.

Buffalo doesn’t have centers only Eichel so stop trying to say Mittelstadt is a top6 center lol</div></div>
Mittelstadt was dominate in college and has been great in the AHL. He has slightly higher potential than A.Nylander and the return was a top 4, 20 year old defenseman.

trade deadline moves
1. NYR isn't going to trade a young goalie with starter potential for an old washed-up backup goalie. Especially when they would still have The King and that new goalie prospect. (I forgot his name)
2. Saad has been the Hawks best player when he's healthy
3. Hawks don't need more defensive prospects or players
4. If the TOR trade were to happen, it would most likely be for Kubalik not Saad
5. Gus really has limited value. He's bad defensively and hasn't been great offensively. He has to go but it'll most likely be for a second round pick and maybe a 4th added on.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Hajek and Strome for Nylander and a D prospect. What do people think</div></div>
Don't think Hawks want to move D prospects. Plus Hawks have a lot of depth in the center position and Strome is have quite a year in New York. For a player that has been inconsistent, moving Strome could prove to hurt Strome's point production. Plus he's a core piece for the Rangers at the moment.

Benn For Subban
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>Yeah? You should ask him now lol</div></div>
Just because a player is having an off season has no relation to their leadership ability. Benn is and has been having off seasons, Toews had some off season, Kopitar had an off season, the list continues. You can hate on Subban all you want but he is one of the most dedicated and hardworking leaders in the NHL. There are multiple articles about it in addition to the millions of dollars he's raised for charity.

Benn would most likely be asked to waive his NMC so Dallas can start shopping him around. Once he waives it, he has no control on where he goes

"He's exciting, impactful, helpful to the team. He's great for the community. He engages, and it's heartfelt. And he candidly cares about growing hockey. You think about those three things coming to New Jersey -- that's exactly what we need."- Ray Shero NJD General Manager

Lehner won't be exposed. Hawks will most likely go all in on him this offseason and if not the Hawks then another team who will lock him up longterm. No matter what he'll be protected.
