All Eyes on Montreal Rumors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hurricanes73</b></div><div>I mean asking for Washingtons top forward prospect in lapierre, their top defensive prospect in alexyev, and a young goalie with tons of potential in samsonov for Christian dvorak Allen and a second isn’t really that smart. The trade you have proposed suggests dvoraks value has increased over the past season. Asking for any teams top prospects at forward and D is almost always getting rejected. Especially if that trade is for Christian Dvorak. Caps keep their prospects 10 times out of 10</div></div>
i dont think that Lapierre is their top forward prospect, that would be connor Mcmichael to me. I also dont think his value increased but i also dont believe he lost that much value. Almost any player on the habs with the exception of Gallagher seem to have a "you were on the worst team in the nhl" pass and teams recognize it was an anomaly that these players were on the most injured roster in NHL history. Lapierre looks like a decent prospect but then again hes a nice prospect in one of the worst pools in the NHL and seems to still need atleast a season in the AHL to develop his game to a pro hockey level. Dvorak brings you certainty at center then is able to transition to the wing when and if Backstrom returns. Alexeyev being their top D prospect also is not accurate to me as Iorio and Ferharvary seem to have higher ceilings and in one case already played nearly a full season in the NHL.

HABS Trade Lehki
both trades are bad.
Kid coming out of university who isn't very flashy is not worth a high 2nd round pick.
With the market being what it is Lehkonen is worth a high pick + seeing he has a RFA year left.

Habs are kicking tires on chychrun
As a Montreal fan, i would never give up that much for Chychrun. Jordan Harris was rumored to be on the olympic roster (to give an idea of how good he is/potential) and Kaiden Guhle was captain of a stacked team Canada World Js for a reason. Big, defensemen who can play physical and skate are a premium which is why he was a 16th overall pick.
As for Dichow, who knows with these deep goalie picks, theyre always a coin flip but hes going to the olympics and will be a goalie in the SHL for Frolunda as a 21 year old.
Chychrun is a very interesting player whos shown that he can play a pretty high level of hockey but i dont think its the player to start emptying the farm for.

The Most Montreal Should Get For Petry
Coming off 4 consecutive 40 point seasons with 10+ goals as a smooth skating right-handed shot defensemen but he's only worth a 3rd round pick because he's having a bad 40 games on the worst team in the NHL.
You my friend do not know what you're talking about.

Habs 2022 Deadline Deals
The minimum return for Chiarot is a 1st lol, come back here after that happens we'll talk about it again.
"dumping Paul Byron" is someone who hasn't watched him very much lol. He had a crappy previous year and injured the one before that. Theres a reason why he was signed to a 4 year deal when he was claimed on waivers. In the right deployment he can be very effective and not to forget he's the fastest guy on the team and one of the fastest in the NHL. If you want to win playoff games you're gonna have to get deeper upfront and not have a middle of the pack PK. Getting him for 2 years at 1.7 for lets say a 3rd would be a steal. but what do i know

Habs 2022 Deadline Deals
The only deals IMO that are sketchy are the Paul Byron one (that one is a bit much looking back at it now maybe just a 3rd or something) and the extra pick that is on the Chiarot trade. I get that Paul B might not go to Minnesota but i think he could be a sneaky add at the deadline for a team that needs some help on PK and some speed. I saw Mini as an option considering they get him for cheap for next year too when they getting hammered on the cap with the buyouts and they have a mid-range mediocre PK that could use some help.
RDs do go for more i agree but i think chiarot is going to pull a 1st + this year. There is more players available but hes among the best names available. What else is out there? 38 year old Staal? Calvin De Haan? Lets not forget Chiarot is sought after because he can play a physical/puck moving type hybrid.
Lehkonen will be traded for a first round pick if not a high prospect and a lower pick.
Appreciate the feedback tho

Smell ya later expiring contracts
Chiarot is going to be one of the bigger defensive names being moved at deadline. a Team will pick him up for cheap and he brings playoff experience, physical play, PK ability and puck moving ability. To say he's barely going to crack Edmonton's roster is very very questionable.

I think that theres a lot of value with lehkonen coming into a teams bottom 6 for a playoff push. He can kill penalties and move the puck and is still under RFA for next season. Maybe Winnipeg isn't the spot for him but I can see a team snagging him. Unfortunately Toronto, Boston, Tampa and Florida are all in the same division so i don't think they will trade him to one of those teams unless they full smack the reset and dont care.
