How I Handle the 2019 Hawks off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>Dzingel isn't going to sign that low; more in the $4.2m+ region.
Setting aside $6.5m for <em>three years</em> to an aging defenceman? Ian Mitchell and Nicolas Beaudin are due next year, with Boqvist the year after that. Would you be looking to move Murphy/Keith out in the future?</div></div>
Yes this would depend on how sure they are that they can move Keith by then or maybe get lucky and move or buyout Seabrook by then. Murphy wouldn’t be that hard to move but I’m not so sure I would be quick to move him.
I also am not banking on both Beaudin and Mitchell to be making any sort of impact by next year. Boqvist should start in the AHL and work his way up also. Byram if drafted MIGHT be able to step in on opening night based the talk about him. Most say he is ready others say another year in juniors wouldn’t kill him.

A Realistic Approach For Chicago IMO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petrock83</b></div><div>If you think Bowman is this dumb then you really must not have any hope for this team. This team is horrific and looks like something that some meathead at Barstool made, not an NHL general manager. Bowman knows his cap situation, and that he can't spend crazy amounts of money on free agents when he has stars to resign the next year.</div></div>
Bowman let this team walk into the 2018-2019 season with a roster worse than this and then FINALLY got lucky on 2 trades getting Cags and Strome, Perlini here. Other than that he has been mostly garbage recently

I’d still like to add another Center but this would leave about $14M for next season (not counting any salary cap bump) to sign DeBrincat & Strome. The kids on D are on their way and in 2-4 years that Blueline will be crazy good. I’d also draft Byram 1st round this draft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petrock83</b></div><div>Who said anything about trading? Panarin ruins our cap situation for the next two years, when we pay him 10M+ and he doesn't fill our biggest hole (defense), that's idiotic. To fill that hole, though, you signed one of the most defensively irresponsible defensemen in the league when we already have Gustafsson, and have Boqvist coming through the system. You signed Perlini to a 2M+ contract, you have Kampf as the 3C, and you put Hayden as a center, which shows me you know very little about this team. Try again.</div></div>
I don’t think Hayden will be on this team much longer personally, and again these are moves I’d expect from Bowman not myself..... not sure how many more times I’ll need to explain that one to you. I’m gonna post another one with what I personally would try to do with the Hawks. This is what I expect Bowman’s dumbass to do. I think he goes hard at panarin and offers a lot of money to him.

Who would you realistically trade off the team that the Hawks could actually trade? Meaning not Seabrook, Keith or Toews as they all won’t waive their NTC.

As a Hawks fan this would be horrible to see the big 2 go but honestly with all those 1st round picks in the next 2 years they would be LOADED sooner than later!! I’d take this as a worst case scenario lol

I don’t think the Hawks would spend the money on Talbot or Panik IMO. Panarin most likely goes to play for Florida but I guess there is a chance he signs here to play with Kaner again.

That top line tho CHI
Any trade involving Kane would have to be a MONSTER package as the Hawks aren’t in a position where they have to move him. He is a future 1st ballot HOF and will have 88 hanging in the United Center rafters. Try again with that trade.

Honestly with the points he is putting up and the threat he has shown to be on the PP, I think you can get a 2nd out of him from teams looking to load up their D at the deadline like a Toronto.

Jackets have to trade Panarin and Bob or risk losing them for nothing yet when they do trade them their Cup chances are gone and they aren’t even one of the stronger contenders anyways. If I were the Jackets I’d try to get better for next season and beyond because those 2 guys just screwed your chances of going deep.

It all depends what their Free Agency looks like. That run they went on wasn’t a fluke and it’s something to build on for them. They will be contenders if not next year then 2-3 years MAX. Can’t say the same for the Flyers.

Not bad but I think you could get higher picks for Sikura and Gus wouldn’t be worth resigning at $5M per year IMO. I like the Saad trade and although I’d like to keep Murphy I would also take that 1st rounder for him. ??

I think they would be ok with not going ahead and trading then. Gudas isn’t a player all teams will be calling about anyways. Philly would be lucky if they even find a trade partner that isn’t offering a 3rd round pick for him.

Smart moves
The Panarin trade is a trade that could make sense IF Stone agreed to resign but the LA trade makes no sense for the Kings, they give away Quick and are screwed if Bob didn’t sign with them. Too much of a gamble in both trades for the GM’s to bite IMO.
