Montreal isn't going to trade Price, they aren't going to get what he's worth and no teams are going to pay anything for him.

Why not just edit this and include Manning? That is a fair trade IMO, though not sure I'd want pool party vs another prospect like Lavoie

TO just doesn't have the cap space for Saad.

Bruins will just buy him out next year and keep their two best prospects.
They don’t need to trade him. They can re-sign everyone next year but Halak, with or without Backes. His contract is an inconvenience but not a hinderance.
And Boston has no interest in either of those guys anyway. Last thing they need is a LD and Sikura is just waiver wire material that would never make the team.
Does not help Boston at all and they give up their 2 best prospects. Lol....no.

Drouin has 4 years left versus 2 for Saad. That to me is a big part of the equation here.

I'd honestly rather see if we can get Drouin. Younger, more control and has some nice playmaking ability. It won't happen, but something I'd personally be interested in
Value here is good, I think Saad would be a nice add for Florida, but they probably would be looking for a defenseman in a deal for Hoffman

I was about to say just that. I really like the idea but I would push hard to keep the 2nd. Gustafsson and Beaudin is exactly what we need for now and for the future.

I don't see the habs trading Suzuki. The habs prospect pool is really deep and they would prefer trading a guy like Ylonen if they want a LD prospect.

Habs aren't trading Suzuki. Ditch Suzuki and Beaudin. Perhaps even Smith, or if need to include Smith for cap reasons, add a small sweetener like a 3rd

Karlsson and Strome were pretty even this past season. Karlsson plays with a lot of speed that Strome doesn't have; they are about even i just prefer Karlsson's game.

Just because he isn’t worth Joki/Boqvist right now doesn’t mean they’re going to trade him for worse assets. Nylander has a ton of potential, and they will trade almost any other guy on their team to get out of cap hell before they trade him for Murphy and Kahun.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>Dzingel isn't going to sign that low; more in the $4.2m+ region.
Setting aside $6.5m for <em>three years</em> to an aging defenceman? Ian Mitchell and Nicolas Beaudin are due next year, with Boqvist the year after that. Would you be looking to move Murphy/Keith out in the future?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WindyCityHockeyGuy</b></div><div>Yes this would depend on how sure they are that they can move Keith by then or maybe get lucky and move or buyout Seabrook by then. Murphy wouldn’t be that hard to move but I’m not so sure I would be quick to move him.
I also am not banking on both Beaudin and Mitchell to be making any sort of impact by next year. Boqvist should start in the AHL and work his way up also. Byram if drafted MIGHT be able to step in on opening night based the talk about him. Most say he is ready others say another year in juniors wouldn’t kill him.</div></div>
Even if Beaudin and Boqvist aren't ready next year, I'd much rather just stick with our guys now than sign Myers. The defense may be bad for another year, but signing a guy who is getting towards his thirties to a major overpaying contract is much worse. Use the Myers money to get a cheaper, younger defenseman and another center.

A Realistic Approach For Chicago IMO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WindyCityHockeyGuy</b></div><div>Bowman let this team walk into the 2018-2019 season with a roster worse than this and then FINALLY got lucky on 2 trades getting Cags and Strome, Perlini here. Other than that he has been mostly garbage recently</div></div>
Bowman had a bad offseason, sure. Here's what he's done since then:
- Signed Hagel and Johnson, who are having terrific years in the WHL
- Signed Delia and Dahlstrom to team friendly extensions
- Turned Nick Schmaltz into a young top 6 center and a young top 9 winger with potential
- Turned Brandon Manning and his awful contract into Drake Caggiula
- Traded for Dominik Kubalik, who is projected to make the NHL next year
He knows what needs to be done for this team and he's planning for the future. Have more faith in him.
