<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jacketsman61</b></div><div>Ok, so the Jackets are going to trade Panarin to a division rival, when the Jackets are battling that said team for a playoff spot? No. On top of that, the return is ridiculously bad.</div></div>
Burakovsky is 8th in his draft class in goals, so far, just between Drouin and Mantha. Picked in the same draft as Duclair and Bjorkstrand, he has exactly as many even strength goals as both of them, put together. He is third in the class of 2013 in playoff points. Burakovsky alone, long term, is worth a rental on Panarin.
Samsonov is not going anywhere. Better chance you get Holtby.
Eller is the Caps leading forward in SHTOI this year, and second in faceoffs won. He also plays third line and often outscores some teams' second line centers.
Panarin is good, but the Caps have lost, a whole lot of games, lately. They're probably not taking on any rentals that cost more than a 4th round pick.
I have seen some offers of Wennberg to Washington, or of Duclair, Murray, or other long-term guys who might get some of the above pieces into discussion.

Panarin and Ryan Murray for Burakovsky and Niskanen? That could open up cap space to extend Panarin, if Murray doesn't need a big raise. Niskanen is still better than Murray, but who knows for how much longer. Same with Panarin and Burakovksky, so it might be fair, once Burakovsky starts getting top six minutes and top power play time and showing what he's actually capable of. The Jackets get two guys who just won a Cup and get out of a UFA negotiation with a guy who sounds like he needs to move on. The Caps get a big roster shake up and someone who can do a cool "bird man" celebration after he scores a goal. :)

The value is there if those were signed for longer time. But since the said players are just about to become UFAs, their trade value is lower. The realistic return for them is probably just a half from the offered. Like, CBJ would be pretty lucky if they could get Burakovsky+Samsonov+1st from WSH for Panarin, and FLA would be pretty lucky if they get Brassard+1st for Bob.

True that. Panarin to the Caps makes far too much sense.

I can't see Florida losing a possible lotto pick and Hoffman for a guy they have a good shot at in free agency.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>No, He is worth a 2nd but when I add in a 3rd for STL's 1st it makes the value even. STL is one of the top 3 teams in the west, talent wise, and everyone should be scared of them in the playoffs. They might just make the finals if Binnington keeps playing decent hockey.</div></div>
Ok, keep dreaming Philly fan. Gudas + a 3rd is worth a 2nd round at best and don't expect the Blues to make a big impact in the playoffs. Yes, they will be in, but they won't make it out of their division, and it isn't Binnington who will help them out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WindyCityHockeyGuy</b></div><div>Not enough for the Sens to bite. Your looking at the standard high pick, prospect & roster player minimum PER player when it comes to star players like Duchene & Stone.</div></div>
so broken down:
2019 1st, Tolvanen, Bonino for Duchene
2020 1st, Fabbro for stone
just need another roster player. I'd suggest Smith personally since he's good for 20+G and with his contract and Bonino's contract moving would likely have room for re-signing Duchene/Stone. maybe sprinkle in conditional 2020 + 2021 2nds if they re-sign or nashville wins the cup
