Description

This is just my opinion but Mathews has not looked the same since the second shoulder injury , he does not drive the net and relies on his world clas shot . I fear his career may end up like Lindros , cut short by injuries .

1) This trade is dependent on Colorado getting the first overall pick in the lottery via Ottawa and they draft Hughes to replace Mathews at Center in the 20-21 season .
2) They also get Makar who is going to be an elite RH D in the new NHL .
3) This cleared a ton of cap space.
4) Allows you to keep Kapanen and Johnsson.

In the end you get : Hughes ,Makar, Johnsson,Kapanen and have 10million in Cap space for Mathews .

Makar and Hughes are likely going to combine for more Cap than Matthews in 3 years. Just setting back the timeline of the team and making it worse during their prime contending window. This had to just be a troll right? You're trolling... have to be.

Um, matthews has 50 points in 42 games, he has 182 points in 186 games overall and wont be 22 until next preseason. What is wrong with you?

Yah not near enough for Matthews but for what it would cost the Avs, I wouldn’t be worth it in the end. I will agree though that his shoulders are made of glass!

There is only one trade partner for Matthews and it is Columbus and we all know why...
