NOT the worst trades possible -- these are all highly conceivable, although I might not make all of them.

It would be fun to watch the side-by-side development of Finnish smurf twins Roni Hirvonen and Kasper Simontaival.

I honestly think that that isn't enough for McCabe, at least from CHI perspective. He's signed for multiple years after this, PLUS retention? I know he's not a top defenseman, but they're going to want at least the 24 1st, the prospect others mentioned (Minten), and another pick at minimum.

Hawks probably accept McCabe half retained for the '24 1st + Minten.

Yes, take the prospects out and have it be minton + 2024 1st + 2023 3rd for McCabe 2million + 4th CHI and 7th CHI in 2023.

Tidy bit of business. Not bad for a 3RD, essentially telling Holl he's out next year.
Works for me.

I think swap the 1st to the retention team and the 3rd to Vancouver and it’s more fair

Canucks accept, the retention by a 3rd party might need more than a 3rd though, as $2.5 over 4 years is a lot

if you're asking for multiple years of retention, you will need to offer more than that!

Anaheim deal is fair, I'd say. Grant gets another chance to chase a ring, Anaheim gets a high-floor/low-ceiling type prospect.
Feel like you're giving up too much here. I like Soucy, sure, but he feels like a 2nd-and-a-prospect type value guy at best. Geekie has had a ton of shot luck to get his 4 goals in 15 GP, and I'd assume that at best he's getting a 3rd rounder in a trade. I think Seattle would jump on this trade and Toronto would be giving up a 1st for minor upgrades at best. Pass for the Leafs.

Honestly as Anaheim I'd just rather get a 4th round pick. But every Leafs deal has to be contract in/out neutral so there's that.
On that same token the Seattle deal doesn't work as is because of the extra contract going to the Leafs.

Wow! I'm impressed!! That Muzzin-for-Silfverberg trade is far from being the Worst Trade Possible . . . it's one of the first Muzzin-to-SoCal ideas I've seen that I've liked. Anaheim gets the less expensive player in real money (which is important to us) and Toronto shaves a little off the cap top (which is important to the Maple Leafs).
Oh, wait a minute, I'm supposed to be an anti-Toronto goon . . .

Mrazy solution
These are both bad goalies with bad contracts - age and ability to bounce back aren't really that pertinent, because if you truly believed Mrazek was capable of it you wouldn't be trying to dump him.
Dallas has the goalie with the lower cap hit, less term (so a cheaper buyout) and who's also recently had a hip surgery with a minimum 6 month recovery period - i.e., a guy that they have a good likelihood of being able to bury on LTIR if needed. If you want them to take on the bad goalie with the bad contract who has an extra year of that bad contract, you need to give them a reason to say yes. Toronto adds.

Honestly this isn't ridiculous, but I still think Dallas just takes the one year left with Doby or just buys him out themselves and maybe keep Wedgewood for cheaper.

Jack Campbell gets more money.
For that offer, Andrew Copp will sign with the NYR.
And there'res greater odds that Jakob Chychrun will be a King before Jake Muzzin.
