<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Rocket</b></div><div>Jost is really defensively sound 3C who is an RFA with a low QO and his 4 years younger than Reilly. Timmons is a really good RHD prospect who is expansion draft exempt and has had a ton of success in the AHL and is right on track in his development. He would have at least as much value as let’s say a Liljegren, if not more value.
Rielly is a really good offensive defenseman with one year left on his contract, but he would be at best the 4th best D-man on the Avs. His WAR% is propped up from his really good 2018/2019 season. His career averages suggest he is a one dimensional offensive Dman, not much better than a Tyson Barrie or something along those lines. I could definitely see a team starving for offense on the back end giving up a 1st for him, but I can’t see a team giving up two young cost controlled players in important roles trading for 1 year of a offensive Dman</div></div>
You bring up Tyson Barrie as an example. They got one of the better 2C's in the league on a cheap contract for one year of Barrie + 3C. I think you are undervaluing a top 15 (scoring) D thats on a relatively cheap contract, although Jost is strong defensively, giving up Rielly is not worth it at his production level. Connor Timmins has potential to become stronger, but at 22 years old with 33 games of NHL experience, it just doesn't come close to even one year of Rielly's value. Your point about Rielly not fitting with the Avs is very true, it just doesn't make sense for either team, Avs already have imo the best D core in the league, they dont and shouldnt give up good role players. It also doesnt make sense for the leafs to trade him to the Avs because his value is lowered due to not fitting with the team. But overall you are under valuating Rielly or overvaluing Jost and Timmins. This trade was bad the second he clicked the teams

I agree, this is a lose lose. Awful return for Rielly, and Avs don't need another offensive defensemen.

Please elaborate
How can a top pairing defensemen (on a good contract), in the 99th percentile in even strength offence and 88 War% only get back a young 3C and a young defensemen who wouldn't be playing in the Avalanche's lineup if it weren't for injuries.
Also if we are moving Rielly it wouldnt be to the Avs, they do not need another Offensive defensemen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>I'm not denying he had a great season because he did, that's why I said he moves up to the first round in a redraft. However saying he is top 10 with almost zero NHL experience is just pure homerism.
As for your comparisons, sure he has the edge on Tomasino (should be noted Tomasino is also a center so that raises his value) but the WHL is a lower scoring league than the OHL and the NCAA is significantly lower due to playing with people ranging from age 18-24 on average (with a larger portion of those players being on the older end)</div></div>
The scoring in WHL, NCAA is a lot lower, but a 55 goal 86 point 46 games season in the OHL is still more impressive then a PPG in the NCAA
I'm not dying the homerism, but by saying "moves up to the first round" are you implying he is a late first?
Cause that's just more wrong then my homerism (top 10) take
Doesn't he have the 5th most NHL experience in this group btw? idk. You don't have to think about NHL experience after the top 3
Without bias I could 100% argue a top 15.
Also this year Robertson is going to play at least his 7 games, maybe more at 19 years old on the best 5v5 scoring team in the past few years.
The real answer will probably end up being in between our takes. I can't wait to find out.

Sorry to tell you but Robertson's only stand out thing was his goal scoring
In a redraft right now nobody but you is taking Robertson in the top 10</div></div>
You realize Robertson only played 46 games.
If Robertson played the same amount of games as Tomasino he was on pace for 116 points
If Robertson played the same amount of games as Cozens he was on pace for 95
(Full OHL season) Robertson was on pace for 81 GOALS, >>>> PPG in NCAA
Only one thats close is McMicheal (adjusted to the same about of games)
McMicheal - 47 Goals 102 Points
Robertson - 62 Goals 97 Points
Idk, I'm taking the 5 less points for the 15 more goals player
I'm not gonna compare a goalie.
The only reason he would drop again out of the top 10 is because he is 5'9. He is also the youngest of them.
Obviously goals and assists aren't everything and I understand dropping him due to size and the other players having higher ceiling, but you cannot deny his historic season.

If you are talking about high potential ceilings, then ya I can agree, they are all skilled.
But based on performance wise only the NHLers, and Byram did arguably better.
So if you combine potential and their D +1 seasons saying Robertson is 8th is not a stretch.

Bro what...
Robertson vs Kaliyev (If they both played 57 games)
Goals - 68 vs 44
Points - 107 vs 98
Robertson had the most goals per game in the OHL since Eric Lindros, played the PP and the PK (highest shorthanded goals pace in the history of the league)
He was able to keep up with NHL players in his call up.

Re-Doing the 2019 draft (Lots of World Junior Players)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HatterTParty</b></div><div>Like I said, they were each awful in their own ways and history shows that even more. Ya can’t say one deserves to be over the other a year on. As far as I’m concerned, 1-3 is still the same. In five years time, sure, we can readdress this, but to suggest Dach was light years better then the other two is just brutal. That’s basically setting the bar as low as possible to make him look good.</div></div>
You are putting words into my mouth.
Never said "Dach was light years better"
Dach and Hughes had VERY similar seasons (Interchanging them is fine). Kakko had a historically bad season so I ranked him lower. All of them are really close.
I saw you respond to HatterTParty, Zegras hasn/t done enough to prove why he should be moved into the top 3
He had a great season in the NCAA, but not enough to overtake any of their spots.
This list can change very fast, but for right now I feel like its pretty decent (I'd make a few changes)

Tomasino higher
Newhook should be rising wtf

Cam York should be dropping not rising
Kakko was awful but dropping 4 is harsh,

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HatterTParty</b></div><div>You also gotta remember, the trifecta of hughes, Kakko, and Dach had one of the worst statistical rookie years cumulative in the history of the NHL. As such, saying that Dach was better than Hughes by certain numbers isn’t saying much at all. They each we’re bad in their own ways.
Also, Trevor Zegras is a monster, pure and simple. He is BY FAR the best pure playmaker in the 2019 draft class. I truly believe he’ll be the best player in the draft class.
1. Zegras
2. Hughes
3. Kakko
4. Dach
Suffice to say, I’d take Zegras over any player in that draft at present in a redraft.</div></div>
Such recency bias. Just because he is killing it at the NHL doesn't mean he deserves a spot over any of the three NHLers.
Kakko had such an awful first season so i'm going Dach > Kakko.
Zegras' NCAA season was good but doesn't move him near the 1st pick.

Dach had a better first season than Hughes in almost every category (Advanced and regular stats), still very close but having that many arrows is wrong.
You can swap Zegras and Cozens, they are really close.
- Cozens having a 113 point pace in a normal full season (WHL). Better playmaker
- Zegras having 36 points in 33 games (NCAA). Better skater
Both are tearing it up in the WJC, and have strong all around offensive games. This one really is a toss up, both stud risers.

True I'm a leafs fan, and I'm biased about a lot of things, but just look up professionally done re-draft. I don't think you can find one that has Vaakanainen over Liljegren.
Tbh it's just a awful take all around. His regular stats, his advanced stats, professional reporters all favor Liljegren. Sure your criticism is fair and in a redraft Liljegren deserves to fall around 8-15 picks but not as far as Vaakanainen.

He had a great season last year as he continues to improve. The only year he struggled was his 19 year old season (2nd marlie season).
Last season only Jake Bean and Erik Brannstrom had a higher PPG in the AHL. Liljegren is great in transition and strong defensively.
I understand you are a Boston Bruin fan and being biased. In my own Mock draft I have Liljegren falling from 17 to 25

He didn't do good in the NHL but his step up in the AHL this year is for sure better than Vaakanainen
