Big trade
Ellis is not a number one d man. Provorov on the other hand is and he can also play his offside. So he can play top pairing with JMo.

Adding Scheifele
There is a deal to be had between provorov and Scheif and some other pieces but I doubt that would include Pionk, the Jets have no interest in trading him. They might however, look at trading another d man like Schmidt, Stanley or even possibly Heinola if the right package was presenting

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>betahuman</b></div><div>That is far from the actual problems the Jets are facing. Not to mention that size is the most overrated thing in nowdays hockey. Big physical dmen don't automatically play good defensive game. Big dmen automatically don't play physical. My friend just take a look at Stanley or Myers, those are almost useless dmen. Pionk hits like a madman but is smallish. McAvoy is a small dman too but man does he play a good defensive and even physical game</div></div>
I’m not saying Dillon is good defensively just cuz of his size. He’s a good defensive player who I had been one of the only efficient Jets d men to actually get body position on forwards attacking the front of the net. Also size is not overrated. When u look at all the Stanley cup winners over the years there is a trend with the defence. They are all big bodies who are efficient puck movers and can play a heavy game. Tampa’s defence is huge, St. Louis had big defenders when they won except Vince Dunn was the only exception. Washington continues to have big rugged players on their back end. So size is not overrated at all. I’m not saying that smaller guys can’t play physically or that they are not good, I’m just saying it’s good to have some balance. They already have jmo, Pionk, Heinola and Demelo and a bunch of other small guys. They get worn down faster so it’s good to have balance.

They play different styles of game. Once again, the Jets need bigger bodies who play physically. Or else they won’t change

This is the first one for Detroit that i would say ok to. Better overall value. The contract has to get moved and truthfully he makes more than he probably should.
The Monahan deal makes 0 sense for either team. Calgary could dump him for way less than 2nd round picks... Why would Winnipeg dump contracts to pick up another contract they dont need? Just seems like a bad deal.. Plus your still over the CAP</div></div>
The trade of Shmidt is not only a camp dump… it’s because this team needs to change up their ways of playing the game (aka playing the game the right way). Nate is almost all offence and his defensive game is very non reliable. The Jets need a new culture of playing the game the right way, playing simple hockey while being committed defensively. That’s what they will get in balance players like provorov, Samberg and keeping a guy like Dillon.

Monahan could serve as the replacement centre on the second line when Mark Scheifele is traded. I also think he could bounce back in a new environment, also playing with Nikolai ehlers. Let’s not forget that one insane season he had a couple years ago. So I think it would make sense for the Jets, considering Cole perfetti probably needs one more year before he play centre on second line and nobody will come here as a ufa.
Also, with the flat cap still surrounding the league, a lot of teams are not in the position to be taking on alot of cap. Considering this, ur take that it will be way less than a second for a team to take his contract on is very inaccurate.

I think jets likely target a good RW for Scheifele</div></div>
Right now defence is the biggest issue with this team. Not a lot of elite top right handed d up for grabs in a trade but yea, a guy like provorov has actually played his offside before, so it’s not a huge deal if he plays on the right side with jmo

Like I said before, I don’t think the Jets should just trade him. Dillon is the literal mould of how the Jets should be playing. The Jets need to be better at committing de pensively and playing as a unit. Dillon is a solid defenseman who blocks shots, plays the pk and best of all, plays hard and physical.

If I’m the Jets u definitely don’t trade Dillon. He’s one of the pieces u need to keep if u wanna change the culture to a more committed team defensively. I also don’t think Klingberg makes a lot of sense considering he’s not great defensively.

100000% Samberg plays in the top six next season. He has proved he is a top four d man and him playing in the lineup over Stanley proves the Jets prefer him

I think that’s still kinda weak. Not a fan of the right side.
I would prefer more size:
Morrissey-RHD from trade
Samberg-Pionk
Dillon-Heinola/Demelo (trade one of them)
It’s quite obvious at this point of time adding one defensmen like lyubushkin isn’t gonna change anything. The Jets need a overhaul on defence, by adding a top guy and letting more of the young guys play. Lyubushkin is just adding to the log jam of third pairing d man in the system

Yes, he needs a fresh start. He has been given a lot of opportunity and hasn’t ran with it. It’s a shame cuz there’s a lot of talent there but he just has not produced.

my schiefele take
The Jets aren’t gonna trade him for the sake of trading him. They gonna trade him to fill needs that the team has. They need a defencemen or a centre to replace him. None of those assets are needed except a debris I would be a nice sweetener to a main piece in the deal.

That’s the whole point of being gm, you gotta make calls. There is ALWAYS players who u laundry think would be available but if u make a call and offer something the team will like it may work out. A perfect example is Paul Stastny. He was never on the trade bait board for the 2018 deadline. No teams thought he was available but the Jets called and made an offer that the blues liked. My point is that u never know until u make calls.

I'd say the Jets could've run three scoring lines and rolled four lines all season(and in seasons prior) but they've been coached by guys who can't build a line to save their life and are stuck in the past.</div></div>
Provorov can play the right side and I don’t know how u come to the conclusion that those two players are the only ones available on the right side

From yesterday's edition of K&R where Friedman was the last guest. With a big market in the offseason, the return will be good.</div></div>
If Chevy has done his job well, the return should be similar to jack eichel package.

Considering strome is an RFA I would call that an overpay. I also don’t get the konecny deals. Just get provorov and some draft picks or something
