<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YourWinnipegJets</b></div><div>I’ve always kinda circled back to the philly outline cuz I think it’s the most realistic value wise and also provorov has also made note that he would prefer a change in scenery. I think in a Scheif trade u would ideally want an upgrade on d but when u also trade him ur losing a forward so u would likely want a forward back (preferably a centre but that doesn’t work in this deal). I would go for a deal that would involve Scheif going to Philky for Provorov and Konecny. The Jets would probably need to add some pieces to even it out, maybe Heinola or a a second round pick or something. But tha all I have. Let’s also not kid ourselves that there are going to be some playoffs teams that lose in the first or second round that are going to be disappointed and might be interested in a Scheif piece to push them over the edge. As Elliott Friedman said, “the market is gonna be huge.”</div></div>
I get the idea of trading him to Philly and even though I like Konecny and Proverov, I still don’t think it’s an ideal trade I would make. I wish the locker room issue weren’t real and just a rumour but with Schiefele’s comments it for sure sounds like something is rotten in that locker room rather it be Wheeler, Schiefele or both. One thing that is for sure is that if the Jets want to stay competitive they need keep Dubois and sign him long term or that trade (for Laine and Roslovic) will end up looking like a disaster.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Chevy has been absolutely terrible at managing his B/C grade assets.

His old colleague Bergevin was great at it in Montreal, he made some questionable trades there but his smaller trades were good even if they were minor deals.

I could make a long list of the small trades involving mid to late round picks that Chevy should've made (Stephenson) and a lengthy list of the mid to late picks thrown away on depth they didn't need when they were going nowhere anyway(Benn).

Idk what kind of value these guys have but some do look promising, will be a shame if they're lost to waivers. I really want to see Gawanke and Berdin get in some regular season games before the season ends, both have earned it.

Alone I doubt they're worth much but could one of Gawanke or Kovacevic been traded with a 2nd for Dillon instead of two 2nds? I mean if one or both are possibly going to be lost would it not have made sense to move one than if Washington would've done it? I find it hard to believe Chevy was planning on having both Gawanke and Kovacevic in the Jets lineup in 22-23, sending one out would probably of been good asset management.

They hang onto some of these prospects till they're pretty much worthless while they have obvious needs, could some of these prospects not be turned into a player that can help now, they also seem loathe to give certain guys a legit chance so why hang onto them forever, again don't think alone they'd be worth much alone but perhaps combined with a pick they might be able to get a player they could use.

And then there's Vesalainen, yes he was given many opportunities this season and did very little but was he not a guy who should've been sent back to the Moose WAY before he finally was, letting him whither wasn't a good development plan imo.

Will be an interesting to see if Chevy does anything to manage these assets you have listed here.</div></div>

Its interesting to see what an outsider who assesses NHL prospects for a living thinks and this interview with Scott Wheeler (The Athletic) last week was interesting: <div class="yt_out_cont"><div class="yt_cont"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/In8pWN7tLqI" frameborder="0"></iframe></div></div>

He says Perfetti, Lucius, Heinola, Chibrikov, Gustafsson, Rashevsky and Samberg are the top prospects and then there is a big drop off after that. Says that Kovacevic, Chisholm, Gawanke will just be organizational depth. Also he is not high at all on Vesalainen. He goes into some detail on the top guys, his disappointment with Vesalainen and speaks about a bunch of others briefly. For me that interview points out how Jets fans (including myself) are overvaluing the depth prospects and shouldn't be pencilling in Kovacevic or Gawanke higher than a 6/7 D-man.

I agree that it would be good to see some of the prospects up with the Jets for a spell to see what they can offer and at the very least a bit of a showcase in the event they can be included in an offseason deal.
