Competitive Rebuild
That’s why smith and Frederic are moved at the deadline, months after Mcavoy and Marchand return. Reilly and Grzelcyk both have value so dumping them for nothing makes no sense unless you desperately need money which they don’t, can move out lesser players if needed as well. Getting rid of foligno helps but not if we are adding picks. Bruins would be better suited to just bury him or hope that with a new coach he can put up 10ish goals and get some value at the deadline.

Bruins off-season and next year
I’m pretty confident pasta will resign the bruins just need to sell him on direction even if that direction is retool for 2 years. If pasta says he wants out this team has no choice other then a full tear down. The bruins should not base next years competitiveness on Bergeron. Whether he chooses to return or not the team will not be competitive enough to make a deep run. Which is why he likely retires now

Offseason
Spot on. A retool though not a rebuild. Hopefully 2-3 years if we are lucky. The trades are all pretty fair. Give some young guys an opportunity to prove themselves until injured comeback. Flip some guys at the deadline for some more assets, I wonder if guys like foligno (if he finds his game), haula, nosek, and Freddy can get some sort of assets especially if bruins can retain.

Bruins retool ugh

With this roster they are honestly in contention for a top pick, but when you add back injured players in November and December they still might have a decent pick but not close to bedard

Bruins aren’t trading Carlo at this moment with all the injuries unless it’s a big deal in the bruins favor. If the bruins want to stay In contention it probably involves JT Miller. If the bruins are going full rebuild it starts with that 1st rounder

Trading Miller Myers and Poolman
Boston says no without blinking twice. Way to much.

Boston prolly says no. I think Carlo is worth more assuming that debrusk and garland are basically equal

Exactly how it should happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bergy37</b></div><div>That's just the 2022-23 cap hit. It could be an incentive laden contract which impacts the cap either in 22-23 or 23-24 depending on their cap status at the end of the year.</div></div>
No idea if this is even legal but year after Bergy retires. Hire him for a community job and pay him 10M.

It’s one of those “Absolutely hate to play against him, but would love him on our team”. Especially with him not getting suspended recently and coming off a monster season

How the off-season should go
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>No on Reilly. CBJ have Werenski, Gavrikov and then around 8 LD options for 3LD.</div></div>
Prolly an upgrade on their 3rd pairing, but that’s a deal that could be made with a few other teams. Definitely need to dump that contract if you want to upgrade the offense. Especially with Gryz injury. Should give Zboril a good opportunity to see what he can do.
