<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>The Namestnikov comparison was clearly pointing out the fault in inflating someone’s position because they currently play that role on a mediocre team with no depth. Obviously anyone would rather have Vilardi, thanks for completely missing the point though.

Expecting everyone’s development to go in a straight line is foolish. Brannstrom played 31 games in the NHL last year and then went down to the AHL to dominate (better ppg than Vilardi as a D...) and work on a few other facets of his game. This resulted in him coming back better and more prepared for the NHL grind in his first full season this year. There’s literally nothing wrong with that whole process, if anything it’s just more evidence for how good he is that he initially cracked the NHL last year, and makes him better this season as he knows what it will take to stick around. I never called him full time last year, I called him full time now. And now he’s scoring at around a half point per game pace (he had 4 in 8 prior to today, haven’t watched the game yet so idk if he got more), once again as a D. His potential is still a top pair two way blueliner with elite offensive talent. Everything I’ve read about Vilardi projects him as a middle six center (Dobber projects him as a middle six C, THN projects him as a 2C, even jewelsfromthecrown or whatever it’s called projects him as a middle six C, not sure how reliable they are but clearly they’re an LAK focussed site). He’s gonna be a good player but Brannstrom simply has higher upside and is more valuable.

Sanderson is more of a shutdown guy than elite puck mover and Brannstrom is more dynamic offensively than Romanov (Romanov’s all around game is better at the moment though and he has the size advantage). Seider and Lundkvist shoot right. Byram’s the one I was thinking of, so that’s still just one guy.</div></div>

I'm not gonna go back and fourth with you on this. Vilardi is our 2C and we aren't trading him. End of story.
