That just adds more confusions. Why does ANA trade for a good back-up that they'll have to expose at the expansion draft? And why are we giving up Sam Steel, a former 1st round pick and a player absolutely killing it in the WHL, to acquire him?
It's blatently obvious that a NJ fan has decided he likes Sam Steel and wants him so has come up with some unrealistic way of acquiring him.</i></div></div>

I agree except that it looks like this thread wasn't created by an nj fan. I only agree to it bc I love nj and we would WIN this trade in a heartbeat. I agree that it's rediculous

Doan to Anaheim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mytduxfan</b></div><div><i>I'd do the 1st deal, but ANA doesn't for a number of reasons:
1. Bieksa has an NTC and will not waive to go to ARI.
2. BM wouldn't pay 2 x 2nds for Doan and to dump Bieksa.
I have no idea why we're giving up Bernier + Sam Steel (who has been a beast this season and is 1st in WHL scoring) for Kinkaid. Care to explain?</i></div></div>

Part of the young team, most likely not moving for picks

Sellers at the TDL

Agreed, but Parayko is no prospect. He's easily the 2nd best defenseman on the Blues behind Pietrangelo. To that point Parayko is already better than Pietrangelo at a few things like stick work, shot, & skating.
The value just isn't close. Parayko would return an elite young center. Like mentioned already, think Draisaitl, Nylander, type deals, not a 33 year old winger that will be a UFA.
A prospect would be someone like Schmaltz, Dunn, Walman etc...</i></div></div>
Damn dude. There is no mention of Parayko here

Signing a big name doesnt work if you're in cap hell. The move to make is to move one of your big dollar men first.

'get real' 2 decent prospects, 2 decent picks. Duchene is an elite player for sure, but Zacha is not touchable on the devils for now.

big move?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div><i>John Carlson has a lot more value than Adam Henrique, so the Caps aren't gonna move him. At this point, the Caps need to shed Orpik's contract, not trade their best offensive defenseman for a third line forward.</i></div></div>
Not to defend myself, but Adam Henrique is a second line center first, but has excelled on wing elsewhere. Carlson plays second pairing minutes most times and I believe its mutually beneficial.
