John Carlson has a lot more value than Adam Henrique, so the Caps aren't gonna move him. At this point, the Caps need to shed Orpik's contract, not trade their best offensive defenseman for a third line forward.

Get real if you want Duchene, Then at least Zacha is going the other way.

Not to defend myself, but Adam Henrique is a second line center first, but has excelled on wing elsewhere. Carlson plays second pairing minutes most times and I believe its mutually beneficial.

'get real' 2 decent prospects, 2 decent picks. Duchene is an elite player for sure, but Zacha is not touchable on the devils for now.

Avs are not selling off Duchene in a futures package. Quality over Quantity. That does nothing for them so they turn that down in a heart beat. Zacha is part of any deal or the Avs tell the Devils to kick rocks.

If you dont want to do Zacha, then its Severson & Quenneville.

Henrique might be "nice" but take a look at the Washington lineup. He could barely be their 3rd line centre. Caps are going for it this year, they aren't trading stalwart Carlson.
