Just Lou It Part XII - The Orchids Curse
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>If Lou is secretly a sleeper agent for Montreal he's done his job.... that's way too much going the other way.
Thanks for the s/o on CGY though lol</div></div>
Agreed, it was a lot going the other way for MTL. I just copied and pasted the Ehlers trade with Drouin, then consolidated everything with MTL in order to move up in the draft. What do you think the Isles need to trade for Drouin?

Just Lou It Part VII - The Deathly Hallows
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawkisles</b></div><div>As much as I love “eat Callahan’s contract for assets” post, I’d just bury him in the scratches and skate Dal Colle instead. He didn’t score often, but I saw flashes of playmaking.
Also, I feel like Beau, Bode, Ho-Sang and a 1st is a LOT for Nuge. That’s a 1st, a young middle six center wing with a lot of upside, a future Top 4 Power Play QB and an NHL worthy 3rd liner. Why all that for a just okay C2?</div></div>
Regarding Callahan, I would scratch all day, everyday for Dal Colle. However, given the Loufather/Trotz’s MO on veterans, the team will plug him in the lineup, either third or fourth line. He’s good defensively and adds another ‘character’ voice in the lockeroom.
Regarding RNH, the trade assets are preliminary, so I’m willing to amend it. However, I disagree with him just being an ‘OK’ 2C. He’s a highly skilled playmaker, who also can place pucks in the back of the net. His 67 point season alone eclipses the Isles’ best player, Barzy. He can plug in at center and wing, the former of which the Isles have little to no depth. Also, as an alt captain of the Oilers, RNH adds leadership off-ice and potential chemistry with Barzy, being a fellow BC kid.

Ehlers Tatar and free agents
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>I disagree. I anticipate Trouba is traded this offseason and a replacement is needed. Wilde is a blue chip RHD and accomplishes that 12-24 months tops. Beau is a fringe top-6 with upside for growth. Ehlers just had an abysmal year but the return is still very solid</div></div>
I agree with the base package of the trade, and I’ve played with similar lists that included a 1st rounder as insurance. Explain to me how this is considered overpayment.

Just Lou It Part V - The Final Frontier
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>impaaaaact</b></div><div>Isles make both of these trades for sure - does Montreal actually take that deal though? Value actually isn't too far off, and we replace Quebecois with Quebecois</div></div>
MTL has needed a LHD for awhile, and Leddy fits their bill. Since the Isles' D has significantly improved due to Trotz's coaching, the emergence of Pelech and Pulock, and Dobson and Wilde on the way, the team has D pieces they can part with. Drouin has already felt the heat of MTL media scrutiny, and the Isles might be a good change in scenery.
Regarding the trade deal, I threw in Beau's rights because of the same thing, but for a different reason. He just does not fit into Trotz's D system. I'm willing to ensure the trade by adding another piece or two, like a 2nd rounder and/or a D prospect like Aho or Vande Sompel.

Per your advice, I've amended Lehner's cap hit and term.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hackadart</b></div><div>I know bellows and dal colle have good ciellings but I gotta think WPG would want more for Ehlers as dal colle value has certainly dropped over the last few years</div></div>
What pieces would you add and/or replace for Dal Colle in the trade? I'm willing to part with the 1st pick and Bellows as part of the deal, and I know WPG will need offload some cap to accommodate for Connor and Laine during the offseason.
