I would do that Pageau trade.</div></div>
That's why I said hes strictly a rental.

The Unrealistic Options are the Best Ones
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky227</b></div><div>Ho-sang has bust written all over him (considering he's a former 1st rounder), they'll want Dal Colle over him.
No interest in Hickey as he's 29 and doesn't fit the rangers rebuild. Not a bad piece just not what the rangers will be looking for.
Aho isn't a bad piece.
Considering it's not only division rivals but cross town rivals, the price will be even more inflated. Also because Isles can resign both easily
Isles will have to include Wahlstrom tbh -- considering his value has suffered from a poor college performance it's not a huge miss
Wahlstrom + Ho Sang + 1st (Wahlstrom and Ho Sang for Hayes, 1st for Zucc)
or
Wahlstrom + Dal Colle + Ho Sang (Wahlstrom and Ho Sang for Hayes, Dal Colle for Zucc)</div></div>
Whalstrom doesn't go for rentals unless it's with an extension. I can guarantee you that. Also Ho-Sang isnt really a bust, just an attitude problem. Doesn't produce in the A, but has been good when in the NHL. Doesn't want to play the system so he gets sent down.

Probably. But with Boyle going for a second, the ask for rentals is going through the roof. Take out Beau and its better

Give Me Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DocArin0</b></div><div>Not going to lie, i don't HATE the Marner deal. But i think you would need to add someone from the Top 4 Dcore or a projected Top 4 D Prospect in order for it to work.</div></div>
I hade Wilde in there but I felt like it was a massive overpayment. If the Leafs need a stay at home guy I suggest Pelech. He gets a lot of heat from Isles fans, but over the last 10-12 games hes been a great defensive defensmen. Otherwise I'd 100% throw Hickey into that deal. Leddy/Boychuk are not even a consideration because of cap

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CBJFan5</b></div><div>NYR giving up the least and getting the most.
CBJ not getting enough for Panarin, they have a fair amount of Goalie prospects and would prefer a now goalie.
I dont think this really works.</div></div>
Fair, but NYR gets the most for facilitating, they're losing Hayes where the asking price is 1st+prospect and could use the Defensive help now (Kuhn/Pelech). I think you have to look at CBJ getting a guy who can carry a line back in the deal, if he re-signed, where they could just lose Panarin for nothing anyway.

Lines after Unrealistic Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Sorry, that probably made me seem like a Leafs fan. I'm not.
But yes, I understand the rational. The same could be said of Barzal, Boeser, Laine, and the large number of other young, star caliber players out there that are going to be RFA's over the next couple of years.
I personally think that NHL GM's should be much more willing to use offer sheets, but until the old boys club is gone (Which it seems it never will be), there will just be too much vitriol against anyone who dares to use it. You really think that if you go out and do this that 30 other GM's are going to be comfortable dealing with you again anytime soon? Ask the Oilers how the Penner sheet went...</div></div>
Barzal/Boeser no. Laine/Matthews yes strictly because of Cap Issues. But I get your point about the other GM, but thats why there's (soon to be) 30 others to work with, and most wind up losing their job in the long run anyway.
Cups trump future deals IMO.

You guys bring this on yourselves because truthfully, you want to be Toronto.</div></div>
Orrrrrr, you guys have a generation talent that could be had with an offer sheet because the team could face a mountain of cap issues. Emphasis on the word could here.

If Toronto matches it, they will not be able to sign Marner. I think TML would rather keep Marner and the 4 picks then Matthews.</div></div>
^^^ Exactly the point

You guys didn't read the "Unrealistic" part in the title did you?
And also, I'm tired of hearing the excuse that a player wouldn't accept it. You just had Nylander sit out 2 months to get paid what he's worth. Matthews has been over a PPG player his career and also scores at a crazy rate. Why wouldn't he ask for McDavid money (which Toronto can't pay). It's not like Barzy/Lee/Bailey/Beau/Leddy (Future of Dobson/Whalstrom/Bellows) is a ****ty supporting cast.

if the Isles somehow landed the Breadman
I like the numbers on Lee, but I'd rather give Nelson that 2 year deal as opposed to a 35 year old center.
Also no reason to re-sign Filp or go after Varlamov at 6mil.
