he was more of a trown in. for them to have a body to fill their roster when they start trading players and tanking. in my mind getting a first in a very good draft and a past second round pick scoring at a over 2ppg in the q is a very good deal for a guy that has shown he only wants to come to mtl

You can't play slaf on the first and gally on the fourth... if he gets healty gallagher is a top 9 player and deserves to be playing with good linesmate. and Slafkosky hasn't shown enough to start as you first lw when you have guys like pld and dach that can fill that role.

Montréal is not doing that. R-H-P holds way more value to us then to other teams so he's one of those player that are very unlikely to be traded.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danielcoe</b></div><div>carter contract gets in the way of player development. This year way the year of rookie defenseman and next year is the year of rookie forwards so we want bryon and drouin and hoffman contracts all gone and probably armia wont make the team either. i think Belzile and Harvey and Pezetta have all passed armia so we send him down as no one will trade for that contract as it has 2 more years left on it.</div></div>
i know... i agree... we can buy him out if it's such an issue. but hoffman has more value to the pens so we can trade him and get a third for something we would have done anyway! in this scenario i kept him as a 13th forward but we can easily burry him in the AHL or just buy him out.

i was going to bury him anyway so i prefer having a third and carter's contract that will be buried then just burying hoffman

yeah that was my second choice! i just feel like they've played him alot this season which felt like they were trying to showcase him so i feel like they will trade him even though it won't be a huge return.

who do you think is overpayed? i'm curious to see because i haven't given big contracts to guys with little upside. the three unproven guys with contracts are fantilli, hutson and reidenbacher. do you think the are less likely to attain the level i've put them to?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>Coach Houle couldnt win with those lines.
Richard-Abbadonato = Pacioretty- Desharnais 2.0 (in comparison to their AHL use and NHL use together not combined productions .)
Condotta - Teasdale = Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck 2.0 with higher Goal Scoring upside.(Condotta unlike his Cousin Martin is a pest who can finish fights not a Goon /Grit guy who starts them)
Davidson is ready to play AHL Center but Mysak needs to pack on muscle and adjust to the speed of small NHL style ice .
Davidson needs to also pack on Muscle but plays a gritty 200ft game required for a top Center in the WHL to succeed in todays game.
His biggest issue is skating so having him Center Condotta and Teasdale two mature team leaders who he can relate to .(plus both are excellent skaters)
Pitlick i dont think will start in the AHL and your Centers will all move up a position with Davidson moving to Center.
Most likely with Dube, Stephens or Mysak supporting him from wing.
Houle's ECF run it was 1st and 4th line leading the way at both ends like MTL in the SCF run its structured that way.
Middle 6 is checking and shutdown units who mostly break in the new guys trying to crack bottom or top 6.
Which makes sense as there's really only a 2 shift reward to playing 1st over the other 3 lines as Coach Houle employs a 4 like system that relies on all 6 D.
He's doing good as our Coach too and given his father is the most hated man in MTL Canadiens history the fans were looking for an excuse to call for his head.
I mean if this was a ranking of our depth then sure , its pretty accurate.
But Houle would never skate those line</div></div>
thanks for the input! it's more what i would like to see then what i think will happen but it helps to have this kind of insight.
question for you : would you like to see teasdale higher in the lines since he's having such a good season?

Considering Wifi has significant more box time in way less games, and Anderson has roughly the same I would say that doesn't solve that issue at all.
So you are trying to sell me on hitting and speed. Thats what Brett Ritchie did. Also there is not a single team that would ever consider Anderson a top 6 RW. He is purely a bottom 6 power forward. Im confident Backlund will average more ice time than him for the rest of their careers</div></div>
His production and his play as been one of a top 6 rw. he's on pace for a 25 goal season and that's on a very very bad team. yes he's a streaky player but he seems to have found a certain consistency this year. and my fault for backlund i didn't know he had such a good season. i mostly chose him because of his cap hit so sorry for not doing my homeworks...

does zadorov's name strike a bell? and as much as i like advanced stats, Anderson's strenght are not what are measure... he hits hard and skate fast. what i meant by position of need is that you guys need a top 6 rw and not a middle six center.
and arber is a great and cheap option for a contending team... i'm not sure if you guys want to be that one day but that might be a good start

hhmmm i think that might be delusional... anderson might not be that much better then backlund but he'll cost less, play in a position of need and fit the hard hitting style you guys seem to want to play. And that without accounting for arber who's on a great contract for two more years while replacing one of your overpayed d.

He will probably going to be looking for around 8 mil, while lining up on the wing. Over the next 2 - 3 years theres going to be a bunch of players to lock up all coming out of elc's cap flexibility will be very important then. Mesar may very well make the team, most likely a few prospects wont live up to expectation, but its a numbers game so why play the odds, a mid first rounder could very well turn into a solid player, so i wouldnt write off florida's pick.
I just dont see this desperation to go after Dubois if we draft Fantilli.</div></div>
i get what you mean but dubois is a sure thing! he's not a gamble and i'm sure he'll take a reasonable contract. don't see it as one or the other but as only one or both. we don't have many big contracts so we can get away with having them both on the team

why? mesar won't make the team, with how many wingers we have, Dvorak is not needed if we have dubois and the first won't give us something we need either.
