Okay, then, I'm with you.
My idea has been Sherwood, Morand, a second and a third for Ristolainen and a sixth.

Probably more than that tbh.

Is there a report of Buffalo having LSD in the water stream or something? That's the only way to explain this trade.

Oh I get your AGM now!
OP isn't realizing that he's not just picking top 6 players in exchange for Risto, he's doing it for ones that are young and on great contracts to boot.

Sharks are missing the playoffs
It’s finally that time, the time where the sharks miss the playoffs. Their depth players are either cruddy young prospects or really old veterans. They lost their captain and their core is very very old minus Hertl. Karlsson’s contract could turn up to be awful, like really awful if his injuries persist. Vlasic isn’t elite anymore and they don’t have Nyqvist. Signing Thornton is a given, but all signing Marleau will do is make them older. They had a rocky start to last year, and if they didn’t get so darn lucky they could’ve been out round one last year. This won’t be a popular opinion, but I think the Sharks finally miss the playoffs, even if it isn’t by much.

I'm trying to understand your logic here, please explain. I can understand Henrique for Risto, but I can't understand why you have Sobotka (I get matching salary but no one will take him) and Silfverberg, in the trade?

Sign him
I’d just take one of those acquisitions but not both. Play Hakanpää or move Fowler to the right and let both Guhle and Larsson play. I think Lindholm-Manson, Guhle-Fowler, Larsson-Honka/Shattenkirk would be nice. I think Guhle and Larsson have to play in the NHL this season. They’re 21 and 22 respectively. It’s time to see if they’re going to be apart of the future or not.
I didn’t get to see Honka play but based on the his numbers in his limited time I like him. Some of his advanced stats are pretty good and his blue line numbers (exits of Dzone and denial of Ozone) were 2nd best on DAL last year.

Why not swap Sprong for Ritchie in the Shatty deal? Would make a lot more sense to me. I like Ritchie and would like to see what improvements he's made over the summer, but he is looking more and more like trade bait at this point. If Comtois and Jones take that next step, I could easily see Ritchie getting pushed out the top 9 and I think there is an argument for Shore to take that last spot simply because of his versatility.
Stylistically, Sprong is more of a need. It's a risk because he may not pan out at all. However, as AFOX10900 said, we need goal scorers.

i kinda get most of them, and if you're very concerned with d men playing their strong side i get krug. Krug can't hold McAvoy's jock though, and I don't think there's any facet of the game where trouba is better than mcavoy.

2019-20 preview
Not stupid at all. Very well thought out and explained. I agree with all of your analyses; I have slight differences with you on solutions which are probably a matter of taste.
Your discussion of weaknesses and possible solutions is hard to improve on. I would add that finding a #2RD is probably impossible at this stage and there is some merit to adding a #3RD (Mayfield/Weegar/other). Jensen (last summer/fall before Washington swooped in on him) and Pionk (trade deadline) were my ideas for the #2RD, but bye-bye to them.
I would go with a "rookie" on each line: Comtois-Getzlaf-Kase, Rakell-Steel-Silfverberg, Ritchie-Henrique-Terry, Shore-Rowney-Sherwood with Sprong, Grant and Deslauriers to fight it out for nos. 13 and 14. But I may be seeing too much in Sherwood. I agree with your unspoken thought that Jones needs to start the year in San Diego.

Some roster moves
Why would we expend any worthwhile asset to acquire John Moore? He's a nice player, but nothing above a third-pairing LD, and in addition to Lindholm and Fowler, we have Brendan Guhle, Jacob Larsson and Josh Mahura on that side. Ondrej Kase, who is Ryan Pulock-level, should not be traded unless it's for a top-4 RD. And you seem to have overlooked Maxime Comtois, who makes William Carrier entirely unnecessary, especially in light of the acquisition of Nicolas Deslauriers.

GMBM growing a pair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>Del Zotto, Deslauriers and Martinsen were all just acquired. Seems kind of pointless to look to move them before they've even played. They're also role players who are all just going to be spares anyway. And Shore and Ritchie are each on really cheap contracts and produce at decent rate for those prices (Ritchie especially). I see no burning need to move these players. There's room for them all most of the young guys to make the team. Eaves will probably never play hockey again.</div></div>
I agree with you on Ritchie but for the rest why If they are all going to be spares why sign them? Ducks have plenty of prospects and not enough roster spots as it is. Shore scored only 12 points in 35 games which is about 30 points in 82 games for $2.5MM (he doesnt play PP or PK & is below average in Faceoffs). Again why not play prospects for less than half the price?

Get a top 10 pick and speed up the rebuild
PIT probably rejects, Galch is younger, and they just acquired him, and Henrique's contract is a bit tight, but in 4 years if he maintains this level of play it won't be as bad, and it brings certainty that he'll be on the team next year vs Galch being a UFA next year, also Galch is a winger, he's tried to play C in MTL and ARZ and has been moved back to wing both times, but if he works as 3C in ANA, that is scary C depth bc Rakell can play C as well

Anaheim will bury Eaves in San Diego again this year unless someone graciously takes him off our hands. Kesler is on LTIR for the entire year recuperating from his hip surgery. Unlike Perry, Getzlaf has been productive throughout his career (Perry was coming to a halt even prior to his injury) and will play out his contract in Anaheim. If I'm dealing with Florida, I'd rather have Pysyk or Weegar at less cost.
