DeBoer is known for being a players coach. Just ask Fleury or Lehner lmao.

Not sure how I’d feel about letting Seguin handle second line center minutes again.

I think this is making a lot of sense. Arizona might not want a draft pick so far away in time but the value is there IMO.

IMHO:
Oettinger signs this but maybe not 4 years. 3 years?
Robertson do not sign this as he is looking for a bridge deal of 7M$ for 2 to 3 years
Arizona says no and ask for a 2nd round pick to take those contracts

I think they ask for a bit more considering Faksa term but I think a second would be fair.

I think you're way too high on Stranges. He's below guys like Damiani and even Karlstrom on the Stars depth chart. He's got 1-2 years MINIMUM in the AHL before he's ready for a shot up in Dallas.

put Seguin on the 3rd and Benn on the 4th, that is where they belong :D

I was thinking that Robo would get that kind of contract too just based on how they've been compared to each other and their careers in the NHL thus far, but let's be honest, Kaprizov is just better than Robertson. He's got more points, the calder, and had the leverage of going back to the KHL when he was negotiating the extension, so I think based on that, Robertson is more in the neighborhood of 8x8, similar to what Robert Thomas got. I personally feel like Robertson (just going off his personality in the media and whatnot) is less about the money and more about the team so might not care to sign for a little less if it means using that extra money to acquire/sign new players

I think Kivi should be the odd man out, not Glenny. And hopefully they trade Faksa so one of Bourque/Johnston can get a shot.

Klingberg returns in a shorter deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>behale8</b></div><div>I'm not sure why Anaheim agrees to that deal?
I also think those bridge deals are still under valued, even for bridge deals. I understand the comparisons, but those were both several years ago. I think Robo gets around $7M per and Oetter gets $5M per.
On Klinger... I wouldn't consider 5 years a shorter deal. I would offer 3. Almost like a bridge deal for Klinger. See if he can regain his former self and then sign him to a multi-year, higher paid extension (4 or 5 year extension at $8M per). Then he gets his long-term deal and high dollars.</div></div>
If they do your proposed "bridge" deal with Klinger and he regains some of his form, why would you then sign him to a longer deal with a higher AAV? He'll be 33 years old by then, wouldn't it be better to just let him walk/trade him after the 3 years than to cap strap yourself again by giving him another raise? Harley will be more developed then, as will Bischel and hopefully Kyrou and/or Fegaras, so Klingberg would be a bottom 3 defenseman on this team when that new contract would kick in

Well, if they produced the way they did when they signed them, it wouldn't be a problem but they've declined pretty rapidly. Amazing that 38 y/o Pavs outplays them every year.

Np, one other thing is Khudobin to ARZ might not happen at all since he's stilll owed 3.75m but they wouldn't be giving up anything for him for sure. Isn't he done? I think Anaheim would take him if he is LTIR bound with a sweetener.
If his career isn't over then perhaps Buffalo would take him for FCs assuming they miss on Samsonov who is probably going to be offered big money on a short-term deal by them

Would be surprised if Robertson doesn't at least get ~7m.
Kerfoot might get traded if the Leafs get a better value replacement, one guy they would look at is Dylan Strome, there are others who they might choose to use that cap hit on but landing Strome might make Kerfoot unavailable for a trade like that.
Faksa's cap hit is probably too high for the Oilers.
Overall though, seems realistic.

I really like that 3rd line as I hope Damiani would force their hands in training camp. He is a playmaker and that specific talent is a scarcity in Dallas.
It’s a shame that Mascherin will play in Europe since he would be a much better option than Tufte.

We’d say yes, Nill would sadly say no. Evans is one of my favourite Hab players because I love his work ethic, and it would help our cap situation a lot, short term and long term. Plus we get a 2nd round pick. This should be a no brainer on our behalf, but Nill adores Faksa for some reason so I’m not sure he’d do it. You have the approval of us Stars fans.
My friend <a href="/users/TheMooterus" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@TheMooterus</a> would especially like this move.

Not sure we would have to give that much.
Kessel wants out of Arizona and they are limited in the number of teams he wants to go. Maybe, Nill would not have to give conditions on these picks.
Kessel vs Bowness = Fun to watch as much as it is fun to watch Radulov vs Bowness.</div></div>
Those conditions are the farthest I'd go if Arizona has other offers to look at. If we can get the deal done without them it would be great for us, but if other teams beat that, I'd be more than happy to pay more to get a bigger chance of winning the cup.

My Realistic Dream Scenario with Expansion Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>behale8</b></div><div>Could not have said it any better. There's also the potential that Seattle takes Faksa because he DOES have that contract, as a certain amount of the players they select have to be under contract. I would definitely protect Dickinson over Faksa.
My protection list for Dallas would be Seguin, Benn, Radulov, Pavelski, Gurianov, Hintz, Dickinson for the Forwards. Heiskanen, Klingberg and Lindell for Defense, and Bishop for goaltender.</div></div>
Unless Dallas signs one of Dowling, Cogliano, or Comeau to a new contract, Dallas is going to have to leave Faksa exposed in the expansion draft. If they protect Faksa over Dickinson, they only have 1 of 2 forwards that meet the NHL's expansion draft requirements. The only other options are Pavelski, Hintz, and Gurianov & there's no shot Dallas exposes any of those 3.
As it stands right now, Faksa has to be the forward exposed in the expansion draft & I'm perfectly fine with that.

My Realistic Dream Scenario with Expansion Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MauriceArthur15</b></div><div>I’m curious don’t y’all like Faksa for his defensive game and PK abilities?</div></div>
His defensive play & PK abilities are significantly overrated by most Stars fans because he finished 7th in Selke voting 3 years ago. If you look at his advanced metrics, he was out performed by Dickinson, Cogliano, and Comeau over the last season. I don't dislike Faksa, but he's not playing anywhere near his 5-year contract. I try to get out from that contract ASAP, especially since Dickinson & Dellandrea can already replace him.
