Honestly, I'd be fine with it as is. Run out Boqy/Severson/Gud on the right side and play Bean or Berni or Blanky on the left. Done deal.

Well, I don't even know that they'd want to sign him long-term, depending on his ask and how much they need to pay out to the young guys next year. I don't see that as a true obstacle, unless he blocks it with his M-NTC.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CupChaser</b></div><div>This is laugh out loud funny</div></div>
...why? Lindholm and Kadri are both really good, but their acquisition cost AND contract cost are likely to be prohibitive. Backlund seems like an ideal fit for Columbus's needs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockey_Soul</b></div><div>Eww. Kadri is a much harder pill to swallow.
If CBJ are going to bring in a center, I hope it's Hertl. I'd be able to stomach Lindholm if he comes at a great price without too much term, like a 6x$8m or something.</div></div>
Actually, if we wanna stick with Calgary here, I don't want Lindholm OR Kadri.
I want Backlund. Consummate professional, good in the faceoff circle, a strong defender, and can mentor our younger players. As a bonus, he'd probably have a lower acquisition cost, and we wouldn't have to sign him for as much money or term, making him a better fit for the future cap needs of the organization.

The mess Treliving left behind
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Erbas1915</b></div><div>I get that, but if i'm Conroy I insist on getting that pick asap because even a 2024 pick is still likely 2-4 years away from a main roster impact unless you get really lucky with the pick</div></div>
That's the thing, though... since Conroy just got hired, he's got long-range job security (minimally 3 years, more like 5 or 6 because Calgary's ownership recognizes the awful hand he's been dealt with Treliving's last 18 months on the job). So I could see him being able to sell it, particularly if Columbus throws in another asset like Jake Bean (and I'm sure his dad would be happy to take him).

As a CBJ fan... I actually would have to consider that. I'd rather it be 25/26 rather than 24/25 on the 1st-rounder, but this is actually within the realm of sanity. Nice job.

Truuuuuuuuuuuue, but I think there are deals to be made that bring back an asset that has at least a little value. MacDermid has none. Even a late-round pick would be preferable IMO.

Blue jackets powerhouse
Roster's at 25; gotta move a couple bodies down to Cleveland (Blankenburg and Chinakhov seem most likely here, though Sillinger could be an option too). Don't like playing Sillinger on the wing, nor putting Olivier anywhere other than 4RW or the press box. Would also play Foudy or Bemstrom over Robinson.

Which is a no from Columbus' side. That's three first-rounders for a player who'll be costly to extend, hasn't played like a 1C without Gaudreau and Tkachuk on his line, and pretty explicitly wants out of Calgary (which damages Conroy's leverage). If I were Jarmo, Sillinger/Johnson/Jiricek/Fantilli/Mateychuk/Voronkov/Marchenko are all off-limits. Ceulemans or LDBB are possible, but not so likely. Chinakhov, Peeke, Bean, Boqvist, Foudy, Roslovic, Bemstrom... all on the table in various configurations.

I don't think Columbus management is willing to risk that, honestly. Far more likely they sign someone like Halak and send them to the AHL.

Columbus isn't paying you to take on an expensive winger when they're already overstocked on the wings. If you want Bean, you're sending them picks, a center, or a goalie, not a winger.

Which teams would be interested in these offers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GuyGuyGuy</b></div><div>I will do my best to answer :
1. Hoffman to Carolina for a fourth
2. That package to Chicago for FC
3. Savard 50% retained to LA for Turcotte and a second (move at 2024 deadline)
4. Anderson isn’t going anywhere. Some teams might want him but we won’t get a lot of future for him. Rather just keep him (unless someone offer a first)
5. Allen (50%) to Columbus for a second
6. Xhekaj for a first and a prospect or we keep him. Maybe when Hutson will be a full time Nhler</div></div>

Columbus doesn't need another bottom-6 forward who isn't waivers-exempt. Soderblom would be interesting to them. Buium would be interesting to them. Jan Bednar might be interesting (Cossa certainly would, but I'm not thinking that's likely at all). Rasmussen isn't what they need.
