Anaheim owes you the 2024 fourth for the pick swap/cap dump. A pleasure doing business with you, but we just can't escape the nagging suspicion that it would be better for you to just buy Murray out and then sign Samsonov for $4 million. (It's the same aggregate cap hit this season, and then with the cap rising at least $1 million next year, it's only a $1 million drag on your cap total next season.)

Leafs get fleeced so hard.
Spending 1st, 3rd, 5th in addition for 4th liners is terrible asset management when Toronto can acquire those through free agency.
Even is Muzzin's play has declined, he's not that bad to be dumped at that cost.</div></div>
With what cap space would you find that in FA? Toronto has two years until Matthews contract is up for renewal, they have to win now at all costs, and the league knows this. Any cap dump that Toronto makes is going to take a pound of flesh to get done. That and Toronto is already 1.5 mil over the cap and still needs to resign Rasmus Sandin.

Toronto seemed to do well last season when they had puck possession.
But thank you for offering the first decent trade to take Muzzin I have seen all week.</div></div>
Ducks take this and run. The 2 guys you offered up are better than both players the ducks give up in this deal. Carrick is a perfect 4th liner. Henrique is still a top 6 forward. Grant is awful and Jones still has to prove he can be a top 9 forward.

The first good Muzzin-to-Anaheim trade I've seen. I would accept that offer as the Ducks GM, but I'd let you keep the third.

More worried about helping the Sabres than what Toronto does. Holl would be a decent add.

Why would Holl be in the press box, he would be fine at 3RD, hits, blocks shots. For 3.1m I would do that trade for a 5th. Mrázek is a big ?, but if he did rebound it would be a steal and if he didn't so what your eating 1.1m

Iafallo and Durzi for Sandin and your 2022 first is a good possibility. Iafallo is a great 200-foot player who would be one of your best defensive forwards.

No on moving Matt Roy, especially now that we've traded his anticipated replacement in Brock Faber. Sandin is interesting, and the first is interesting, but I think that Alex Iafallo would be the centerpiece of such a deal.

That move is probably do-able from the Stars' perspective. Dallas has 3-4 (Gleason, Shea, Cecconi, Petrovic) defenseman in the AHL right now who can probably slot in as a 7th defenseman, so they can afford to move Hanley. I think it makes sense for Toronto since they probably don't have the money to keep Kase and bring back everyone they want to, so will need a few $750k contracts this season as bench depth.
To play Devil's advocate from Dallas' perspective, though, if Suter gets traded or bought out and Dallas brings back Klingberg, then Hanley could probably be playing on the 3rd pair with Hakanpaa.

Toronto definitely would be better off after this trade. As a Leafs fan, there’s nothing more that I’d love to see than DeBrincat in blue and white, but unfortunately, I just don’t see a realistic trade that doesn’t include Nylander+.
Chicago would turn this one down and not sure Muzzin would waive lol but not a horrible offer

I feel like that is a completely one sided trade, no?
Mrazek, muzzin, holl, engvall, and kase hold little to no to negative value for where Chicago is at right?
So then it's essentially a top line winger, a high potential young C, a top 4 dman retained, and a couple scraps for two 1sts, Abruzzese, and Miettenin?
It sounds brutal for chicago. Take out all of TORs cap dump players and I don't think that package even gets debrincat alone.

Yea the Leafs are better off....mostly because they save cap on the Muzzin and Mrzarek contracts would be gone. But really NTC Muzzin isn't moving to a non playoff team....so that's the end of the discussion.

Ahh, I changed it after I read what Anderson’s offer was. And I said, “hope” Mikheyev signs for 1M/yr or you have to let him walk or trade his rights too. He’s going to arbitration so I guess we’ll see what they think he should be paid.

center depth for the future

One year of Dermott, even if you were to lose him to the expansion draft, couldn't hurt.</div></div>
At the cost of a guy who's more highly rated than any center prospect in your system? No thanks.
Take a look at the 2017 draft. Fewer than half of the 30 skaters taken in that first round have made any impression at the NHL level three seasons later. That means that there's a 50% chance the guy taken with your 2021 first-round pick won't make the NHL until 2024-2025 (f ever). We expect Thomas to be in the NHL in 2021-2022.

We'd prefer the two-year head start on development Thomas has over the 2021 first-round draft pick. Neither Dermott nor Engvall are of any use to us prior to the expansion draft. We might be interested in one or both of them after July 1.

Is there a chance
I would say no. The Kings are rebuilding and have no need of Kerfoot or Dermott when they could lose one of them to the expansion draft next year.
