No. TK is injured indefinitely for starters, and also, no. That would not be enough return. They don't need Khudobin or Engvall. The 30-32nd overall pick is nothing for TK. To get TK you need to send at least a 1st, an NHL player who isn't a pending UFA or ancient, and someone like Niemela.
Ngl, I was hoping to see JVR when I clicked on this ACGM. One can dream

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>LA was not high on Cernak when they traded him. Kudos to Tampa Bay's development staff for turning him into a quality NHL defenseman.
The Kings are very high on Pinelli. He's tearing up juniors at the moment and the Kings are looking forward to getting this kid back at development camp this summer. He's not going to be traded for a rental.
The Kings have said they're not interested in a rental goaltender and will instead look at longer-term solutions at goaltender in the off-season.</div></div>
Well, that's great that they will look at "longer-term solutions" but other than Vejmelka (who I bet you'd have to give up even more for if you), I don't really know what else is out there. I know Demko has been rumored but I just don't see it. Korpisalo doesn't have to be a rental either. If he plays well, you can extend him and I don't think he would command so much. He's suited to be in a duo like with Copley or someone else. I'd say you're looking at around 3 million, as he's never proven to "the guy" who is going to get closer to 5+.
Listen, I get that the Kings are high on Pinelli and Cernak was under the radar. But Cernak is a defensive defenseman first and foremost, they can be tough to read. Here's my argument against what you said. #1, we all love our teams prospects but realistically most of them will not have a spot to play on our team or will bust. #2 the Kings center depth is great. If your team is entering its competing window (which the Kings are I'd say), and you have guys like Byfield (superstar potential), Kupari, Turcotte (still good potential), Madden, Thomas, Hughes all seen as future NHLers, playing with legit NHL centers Kopitar/Danault/Lizotte. Yes Kopitar is getting old, but he's still damn good. If Korpisalo plays well like he has for the Kings, and you can afford to keep him around...is that not a good deal?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>Honestly, I've been pretty bearish on Gavrikov. He's struggled under the larger role he's been forced into this year. If the goal is to lessen Dumoulin's role, there are probably better options to be had. And Hextall spoke a couple hours ago about not wanting to give up significant assets for a rental, which is what Gavrikov would be. I'm not excited about trading Blomqvist particularly much. Maybe Hextall doesn't consider him to be "significant assets", but imo he's our best goalie prospect. A 2nd and a B-ish goalie prospect got us Rakell last year. It's not the best comparison, but I don't see Gavrikov being as beneficial to PIT.</div></div>
I mean, he would lessen Dumoulin's role by taking more minutes from him by existing. I agree he isn't going to blow you away, but he isn't a nothing player. Also, he could certainly not be a rental if the Penguins wanted. Dumoulin will be up after this season (doubtful he stays I'd say), and I can't see a defensive defenseman commanding that much on the market that it will break the bank. Throw in the fact that Blueger and Jarry will be up, and there's a good chance Kapanen and Carter could be dumped (or maybe Carter LTIRetires). I see your point with Blomqvist though. I could see him coming out of this deal and it just being the picks, or maybe someone like Laatsch?

Get that now? It's the player leaving the team they play for little choice but trade them to one team. Pretty simple really and it absolutely is the same thing.
If they do trade for Kane, it will be Kravstov, a player like Jones, and a 2nd round draft pick for 50% retention and maybe a 4th to another team for 50% more retention. Chicago isn't getting any more than that IF it happens. Still don't think they do it.</div></div>
How do you not understand that Giroux handcuffed the Flyers to go to Florida and they got a 1st, a Kravtsov like player, and a 3rd. Kane is better (or seen as better), so that 3rd would be Jones instead? Get that now? Its the same...exact...thing.

Drury wouldn't have traded for Tarasenko if he had interest.</div></div>
It is absolutely not the same thing and I don't know how you don't understand that. When Adam Fox was traded for he was seen as a promising young defenseman, but not really the Norris level player we know he is. Patrick Kane is Patrick Kane. Also, before you said he didn't force his way to NYR, now you are saying he did (which is what I said?). I'm glad to see you answered my question that you do think there is a stupider GM than Chuck Fletcher if the Blackhawks can't get a better deal for Kane than he got for a Giroux who also forced his way to Florida, I'm sure Blackhawks fans will be happy to hear that.
Seriously, explain to me how a guy who hadn't played a single NHL game who forced his way to a team is more comparble to Kane than another player who was a franchise icon forcing his way to a team (Giroux). And do it without being a broken record.
Isn't it funny how the Rangers are holding out Kravtsov and Lecyshyn, two guys who I said had to be traded/waived to make Kane work, as of today? Weird, its almost like they may have interest in Kane.

Not in the way you are acting. It is terrible in terms of value for Pettersson, as we both agree. It is not terrible in that the guys coming back are actually good players. If the Canucks got Hanifin or Dube in a vacuum, those are not bad additions at all. They provide positive value on the ice. But they would be good to add AROUND Pettersson, and don't equal him at all. That is when you respectfully decline because its not fair compensation/logical while acknowledging they aren't literal dog****.
You know what is a downright terrible deal for Pettersson? Lets say, Rasmus Ristolainen, Kevin Hayes and Tony DeAngelo. They are NHLers but they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse, especially Tony D. If you add Risto/Hayes/Tony D they both don't equal him, and they would basically be giving you negative value on the ice except maybe Hayes sometimes. That is when you laugh, hang up, and block the number.

So the question then becomes, what's 82 games of Henrique worth to the Ducks who use him on the top line, both the PP and PK, and is mentoring our youth? Keep in mind, we don't have an internal replacement for him, and the LW market sucks this off-season.</div></div>
Yeah I agree. I think its at least the 1st, Ducks would want 2023 Avs would want 2024. Do you think the 2024 and Sampo Ranta is at least a starter?

Lindholm, Andersson, and a few firsts to even get vans attention</div></div>
I never once said "Oh, the Canucks should consider this." I said it wasn't absolutley, downright terrible because they are NHL players. It wasn't Markstrom, a bunch of random prospects/busts and mid round picks which is just insulting. Absolutely the Canucks would not consider this, even if they even are thinking of moving EP at all. Yet, you keep acting like I am trying to persuade you that its actually not bad for Vancouver. Its just not the stupidest trade I've ever seen because they aren't awful negative value players. It would not be a fair or good trade, but it would not be like, I don't know, trading Markus Naslund for a 4th line grinder like the Penguins did back in the day.

IF....and the most important word here is IF........IF Kane has told Chicago only the Rangers, it's the same. In that IF scenario, Chicago has no leverage and should take whatever Drury offers because it's better than nothing. I am still of the opinion this rumor is BS and the Rangers are NOT trading for Kane.</div></div>
Wrong. Adam Fox was very wishy-washy about if he'd sign in CGY or CAR, and he honestly was a bit underscouted by other teams. Rangers were both smart to see his upside, and lucky that they didn't have to worry about wishy-washy feelings since he was open about wanting to play for the Rangers. Plus, with Fox it is a younger player who you are trading the rights for. Check out this Rangers blog post about how he was non-commital about signing elsewhere before the Rangers acquired him: https://bluelinestation.com/2022/04/30/april-30-new-york-rangers-history-adam-fox-becomes-blueshirt/
Patrick Kane is a proven NHL superstar and Cup winner. And again, Giroux said "I'm going to Florida or I'm not waiving my NTC." You can verify that point here: https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2022/03/21/claude-giroux-arrives-in-florida-time-to-go-to-work/ If Kane says "I'm going to the Rangers or I'm not waiving my NTC" are you seriously saying that Chicago can't get a comparable or better return than CHUCK FLETCHER got for Giroux?

The thing with the idea of "the coach doesn't want to play him" is that it drives down his value and perception. I'm not disagreeing that its because of Gallant he's not playing, but to other NHL GMs and coaches they think "huh, this coach who is relatively highly regarded doesn't think this guy is cut out for NHL minutes." Also, he's played less than 40 NHL games to date. You are again just proclaiming that he will have a long NHL career based on....what? Prospects can and do bust or just don't work all the time. I'm not saying he WILL but that will the counter argument from other GMs. It is very common for us fans to think all our prospects are going to be long time NHLers, and I don't mean to **** on you or anything. But, that is the way the business works. You're also getting PATRICK KANE who is older but has a resume that is going to demand a decent return even if he forces his way to the Rangers. Giroux, a player I love but is not Patrick Kane, got a 1st and a guy similiar to Kravtsov in Tippett and a 3rd. You think Kane is worth the same (I'd say the 3rd and the "B" prospect are the same), but I'm telling you he is going to get a bit more which could be Jones.
