Even at that, I don't think it gets it done from a NSH standpoint. If they're moving Forsberg, they'll want young assets with the first.

Bear, Cole & Fast wouldn't be of much interest to NSH, and the picks aren't enough for Forsberg even without NSH adding pieces.

Moving Pieces
Granlund is better than DeBrusk, Farrance's potential holds more value than a dime a dozen 4th liner like Watson, and the Preds are moving down in the draft here. It's pretty bad for them.

Fair trade Preds go for cup amp Oilers massive retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>boyd1212</b></div><div>Crazy as it seems given the amount of stuff going out, NSH probably accepts. Johansen's value likely won't ever be higher than his current ~70 point pace and McDavid is only $4.5M more in salary for a huge jump in production. Tomasino is a big loss but not such a sure thing that he's untouchable. Askarov has massive potential but NSH could re-up on Saros and be just fine with him and Skinner or Ingram. Picks can be re-gained through other trades over time.</div></div>
Well said, this trade is pretty perfect

With pk 2 division titles, a presidents cup and a trip to our 1st nhl final. >>>>>>>>>With weber couldnt get out of the 2nd round no division title
Pk is being put in trades to cut cap space or bring in more scoring help. If turris would of panned out and got 50 +and fiala wouldnt of sucked ass then we wouldn't even be talking about trading pk

What it will be NJ EDM VAN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>I don't think EDM would pay this much for Smith's 30-year-old season.</div></div>
Oh cmon. NSH paid for Boyle(34 y.o. ) their 2nd round pick, it wasn't trade deadline deal, but, yes, so close to it.
Look at his stats, look at Smith stats. And once again it is stable 20+ goals forward. Only 3550 to pay.
But, if EDM want to stay out of playoffs one more year, so yeah, save this 2nd and 4th round picks will be much better. Smith absolutely worth that 2nd round pick.(Also look at Wilson trade. AVS paid 3rd round pick, but Smith better than Willson.)

Thread:
Seguin to Preds
At the end of the day, the Stars will eventually cave and give Seguin whatever contract he wants, but of the Seguin deals I have seen so far, this is the best one. Instead of Dougherty, the Stars would likely target a 1st round pick. Stars would likely have to throw in a small prospect as well, but a package involving a top-6 center, a top-prospect, and a 1st round pick, would be extremely tempting for Dallas, should they decide to move him.
The biggest issue regarding this deal isn't value-related. The Stars, and basically every team in the league, would be extremely hesitant to trade an elite player within the division. If Dallas were to move him, they certainly aren't going to want to see him on the opposing bench multiple times per season.
Overall, the value is real close. The big issue is just the logistics of a deal involving a divisional opponent.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>Too late. We accepted and the deal is done.
Actually, when Panarin skates for you, you will see he is even better than Forsberg.
And I like Forsberg, who carried me to my yahoo league title in 2015 (as well as Patrick Kane). I think Panarin is even better than Kane too.</div></div>
Panarin is up there with any forward in the league and I’ve been saying it since the Saad Trade. Sucks he’s leaving but this is fair and good for both sides IMO. Preds get a Tier 1 Forward and CBJ gets a solid middle 6 winger and a Very good defenseman to keep building around.

Smith is overrated, and Josi is most definitely not better than Panarin and he certainly isn’t more valuable to a team with 3 other elite defensemen
