EK is great. even on a down year like this year he still posted better corsi numbers than all 3 norris trophy candidates...Think about it bro. They don't need Tyler Johnson..they have Point who just had an 80 point season and is extremely young, Gourde who is another center who just had a 65 point season...Stamkos, Point, and Gourde. that 3 centers all above 60 points a year. plus Johnson gets rid of 5 mil for them...Also you know damn well that if a trade ever happens Sergachev and a 1st round pick are a must

have you ever seen Bobby Ryans contract and his production in the past 3 years...also think of this..without a third team this deal doesn't get done. So Ottawa won't enjoy the nice haul they get and Tampa won't get there hands on Karlsson..price you gotta pay to make moves. sometimes having cap space is better than spending it

no i think he nailed the trade...your not getting more than a 2nd round pick for taking on his contract im sorry. maybe a 2nd and a 4th...do agree the prospect could be a little better than Stephens

Karlsson to Tampa
how is it that ottawa is the team giving up Karlsson but you have the rangers getting the better end of the 3 way deal? Vesey and Hayes do not compare to what Point can be, and he still has one more year at 900k and is only 23. Plus Raddysh is a better prospect than both Deangelo and Gropp....also first rounder goes to New York? Doesn't make sense. You would think that OTT would be getting the better end

idk bro. look at the cory schneider deal few years ago with the devils and canucks. schneid's was traded for the 9th overall pick...think something similar could definitely happen here. especially given that Grubeur isn't even under contract

NJD trades Sverson and johansson
Im a devils fan...seems possible but NJ is giving up too much on their end just for basically one player (Klefbom). Johansson is a 50 point player who Shero would be selling low on because he was hurt for the majority of the year thanks to the scum brad marchand....yea NJ gets to move up 7 spots but in reality I feel 10-20 in the draft are all similar this year....devils have no picks in the 2nd or third round this year...so maybe if u keep everything the way it is, but take out the last part and add a 2nd rounder this year and we give a third rounder next year, its possible. other than that I think Shero takes his time thinking, but would def decline

love the cole move. Would love for the devs to go after him, only thing is i think he might be a little more expensive. Green is an interesting add i never thought of but kinda like it especially for that term. Can def make a pitch for tavares to and even if they don't get him its not the end of the world. could use the money elsewhere to add a winger or such.

NJD. Constructive Criticism welcome
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaners79</b></div><div>I meant Barzal not McAvoy</div></div>
i agree. There was much better options on the table but we can't fault the player for that. Id rather stick with him at a cheap price and see if he can develop. yeah reilly brings the need of face-off wins but at 7 mil per year on a long contract? I don't want that imo. Hischier did just fine as 1st L C and i think he should stay there. For the price we have to pay i just don't know if its necessary boss

really don't understand the hate Zacha and Johansson get from so many people. Hischier did a phenomenal job as 1st line center all year long as an 18 year old kid, what makes 19 years any different.

And here you are complaining about how the defense sucks (Its not great but it doesn't flat out suck) but yet your trading away a defensemen in that trade for a guy who brings a 7.5 mil cap hit who will play as your second line center? A position the devils actually have depth at? Hichier, Zajac, Zacha, Mcleod, Boyle, Colemen are ALL centers. Why trade away one of your D-men for a guy in a position you don't necessarily need who brings on the largest cap hit on the team? And then not have any additions on defense? Doesn't make sense.

severson is 23 year old defensemen who has the longest contract on the team. You really going to give up on a player after one season? same goes for Bratt. You're really going to give up on him because he hit a rough patch in the second half? Bratt is 19 and was a 6th(!!) round pick. Also, not to mention, the reason he sat was because the devils went out an acquired proven guys like Grabner and maroon for the playoff push. Hynes gave those two every opportunity to succeed and that meant someone (Bratt) was going to be the odd man out. So don't talk about irrelevant with me. This was his first nhl season and I am damn sure it was a pretty good one for being a 19 year old 6th round pick. I bet you were the same person who gave up on Hall last year when he came in and didn't make the impact people thought he would. Giving up on players in a year is foolish and eliminates the whole purpose of drafting them in the first place. You don't buy a team, you create one. You see it in every sport.

huge overpay. Mcleod is potential top 6. Severson is top 4. and Bratt is locked in at top 9 with upside potential. Plus a first round pick? for a guy who has 7.5 mil left on his tag? Would not pay that for him
