Go Big
The issue isnt which prospects you offer us, its that none of them are that good.
Knies is the only one in the right range and hes easily beaten.
I think it would take like Knies + 2023 first + Sandin

Konecny
While I dont think Robertson has quite the value some Leaf fans think (my rationale: Smallish, injuries, 7 pts in 31 nhl games with offensive powerhouse team), hes okay in the deal, but I'd think PHI with Foerster, Brink, Gautheir, Tuomaala, etc... probably put Robertson a ways back in the prospect depth chart, especially as youngsters Tippett, Farabee, Allison, Cates, Frost are in the NHL now. I think Abrueze has little value, his upside is a bottom 6 forward, but hes a mid midlevel prospect. So really it comes down to the 1st and 2nd that are in 2024, not 2023, that carry the trade.
Koneckny led the Flyers in pts last yr, even though 5 out of their top 6 forwards missed 20 games or more, the team sucked, the coaching was bad and they couldn;t score. Hes scoring at a ppg pace without Couterier, Atkinson, and only half of JVR this season and the team still cant score. Hes just 25 yrs old and signed to a really good deal. You are almost blindly hoping (and likely failing) that the 1st and 2nd turn into a Koneckny.
I dont think that offer is bad, maybe not enough, because I think Koneckny and the situation of the Flyers, (his age, their rebuild, hes exactly the player and age you build a team with, (not around), but with) would need an overpayment more than this. Not tons either, maybe the 2023 OTT 3rd.
However it doesnt work because the over 3 yrs of 2.75mil retention would need something substantial, probably another 1st at least.

if Carlo Colaicovo was GM
You forgot to sign his GOOD BUDDY Michael Del Zotto to a 6 year, 42 million dollar deal.
All he did was cry for 2 years about how badly the Leafs needed Del Zotto because they are buddies.
Goddddd, I hate Carlo with a passion lol. Biggest moron on radio.

It’s still almost 2 million more than Theodore. Sandin is probably GOING to be, the problem is Vegas is clearly in win now. Moving players that are in their prime on great deals just doesn’t make sense.

Anaheim
Needs to be a better prospect. Leafs make sense for Hampus, but Dermott isn't needed (Everyone craps on the guy, and I don't hate him, but in this case, he's just another 6th/7th dman that the Ducks have plenty of).
There's definitely a deal to be made, but this offer *should* be beaten by teams like St. Louis, Florida, etc.

Trade options
I don't like the Granlund trade. Giving up a player with 3 years of control for a pending UFA doesn't make a lot of sense, and the upgrade is marginal.
Acquiring Brodin probably means Muzzin doesn't come back. I'm okay with that, but that's probably what you're looking at. Moving over to the right side is not as easy as it sounds, some guys don't do the transition well. Muzzin tried it last year and it was a disaster. But it probably gives you room to chase a reasonably priced UFA RHD.
Leafs can't trade the 2021 1st because of the conditions on their trade with Carolina. I don't know they are a fit to trade with Montreal, especially a player with so much control like Kapanen. Arizona for somebody like Hjalmarsson might be a good option (so would have Demers before he got injured).

Trade with NJD
Skip the whole Palmeiri acquisition, there are less expensive options for the 3rd line. Kapenen plus Barrie and the 2020 2nd would be plenty to aquire Severson, move Johnsson after for an experienced older but productive 3 C if you want to upgrade the third line it's a center you want

Subban
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Still too much. He ain't that good now and certainly don't want him at 4.5m for the following two seasons. Just better ways to spend 4.5m. If Andersen is out for any length of time, it really doesn't matter for the 10th place Leafs .</div></div>
He's been bad this year, true. Most players in NJD have been. But he was good last year and for a decade before, at $4.5M for the positives he brings, if fully healthy (which he isn't right now), they could do a lot worse. A motivated Subban may still be a scary thing. Pair him with Sandin on the third pair. Not a terrible core. Depending on what it costs the team they should look at it. Cheaper it is, more assets they have to go after a RHD for Rielly.

Subban
For what Jersey paid to acquire Subban, they are going to want some picks back. If Subban was slated to be UFA, I would say this would be a trade Toronto should do, but to have Subban and his massive ego for several more years, could cause more harm that good.
There are cheaper alternatives. #1 Hamonic (if the Flames keep free falling), # 2 Martinez, #3 Dumba

The Leafs clearly need to work on their defensive game, shot suppression, penalty kill and overall work ethic, so in those regards, I do not feel PK Subban is the right fit.

Dubas doesn't have to trade a 2nd to get rid of Ceci... I'm fully aware he sucks big time, but he's been slightly better under Keefe and has played well over the past month or so. You could get a late 5th for Ceci.... no need to add a pick

IMO Pesce is more valuable to CAR than Nylander is valuable to TOR..</div></div>
Yeah a 2nd pair RHD is worth more than a top line RW who's looking more impressive by the day and is only 23. That is definitely how things work. Leafs may have to add Matthews just to make it fair.

trade with NYR
I don't TOR is giving up enough in the NYR trade. Georgie for Bracco and a pick has been thrown around a lot. Ceci is a negative in the deal, so it's basically Kreider and Lias for Johnsson. You'd have to throw in a least a 1st

trade with Calgary
If Tkachuk is the target, Marner is the piece going back and likely in a 1 for one. Why? Because of the contracts. Now I know Calgary fans are going to say, Tkachuck's contract is better but it really isn't. Why? I am glad you asked. Its because these 3 year bridge deals with huge final years are extremely risky. What if the player doesn't do well? The team is on the hook for a massive QO. If he plays well, how big is Tkachuk's next contract going to be? He's already looking like he's the best player on the Flames so his next deal could be massive! So if TO is moving something for Tkachuk, it needs to balance in the future which is why Marner would have to go the other way. I think Tkachuck in 3 years is going to get an 8 year deal in the 11 million range, so its kind of a wash money wise long term. Moving Nylander for Tkachuk doesn't make sense for the Leafs because they won't be able to afford the next deal in 3 years.

Rick Nash ?
I think Nash could be a perfect fit for the leafs, Idk what these fools are thinking. I do agree that this package won't get it done though.
Nash will play in the top 6 with them.
Hyman most likely losing his top 6 time and goes to the 3rd.
If the younger guys get bumped out of the line up and the go down and tear it up with the marlies that isn't the worst thing in the world. That's what adding depth is for so that you have guys hanging in the wind just in case.

Rick Nash ?
NO, NO, NO. Why? So Brown and Kapanen gets bumped down. Leafs don't need another bottom six winger. And to trade Carrick, a position of need, what would be the point? I'm sure some team would the most to the Rangers, but IMO, that package you offered if way too much for the Leafs and maybe for any team.
