Anaheim doesnt trade Manson unless they are getting a top RD prospect back, they have zero RD depth after him

Carolina doesnt consider that

Manson starts with Liljegren, Kapanen and a 1st just to get the Ducks interested. This happens after Manson morphs into Parayko.

No, but he does probably start with Nylander. Top4 right handed D who would play on your top pair for a top 6 winger sounds about right.
IMO Pesce is more valuable to CAR than Nylander is valuable to TOR..

Funny, regardless teams dont trade from positions of weakness for positions of strength. Just because the leafs need a player doesnt mean the other team can afford to move them

Yeah a 2nd pair RHD is worth more than a top line RW who's looking more impressive by the day and is only 23. That is definitely how things work. Leafs may have to add Matthews just to make it fair.

The Ducks don't have a position of strength. They have one of the best goalies in the league and really good guys on the top 4 of the leftside of the D. They also have some decent prospects that will make for great support players. They don't have any real elite talent coming up and they need to take a rebuild seriously. Dumping Manson for futures is wise, they just need to understand that he isn't going to get as much as they think. If they need a RHD d prospect, then go somewhere else. TO isn't going to move Liljegren and Manson isn't worth it anyways.

I think the ANA trade is going to be bad for the Leafs....Manson isn't worth what Anaheim wants but ANA needs that return as they have horrible RD depth.

Just because a player plays on a top pair now does not make him a top pair defender. For half of this season Ceci was on the top pair in TO......he is not a top pair defender. Manson hasn't been good for 2 years and is not a top pair player. He plays on the top pair because there is literally no one else in Anaheim. Keep him.

When the shoe fits. Muzzin got less of a return than what you guys want and he's a lot better than Manson.

Muzz got a 1st, (2) 2nd round prospects

Here you get a 2nd, Bracco who makes a great AHL player, Ceci (cap dump) & Kap 40-50pt winger.

So basically a 2nd and Kap.. imma go with the Muzz return over this.

Not to mention Manson numbers are going to be deflated by playing on a dogsh!t team.. Muzz played with Doughty so.. Saying Muzz is a lot better than Manson IMO is not true

Manson younger + signed longer = pay more..

Kapanen is a 40-50 point winger on TO's 3rd line with a revolving group of linemates that has changed almost every game. He's only on the 3rd line because TO has two elite RW's ahead of him. But it certainly helps your argument to devalue Kapanen to just a 3rd liner because of course you do. Everyone on here it seems to do the same thing.

They have a bias for the team they cheer for (understandable) and they have an even bigger bias against TO which is clear here.

Looking at the comparable trades in recent history would put the price of Manson around a 1st round pick and a good prospect, and Anaheim would have good reason to want that to be a RHD prospect. Looking at the Muzzin and Montour deals specifically, a 1st and something like Liljegren should get it done but we arnt trading 1sts or Liljegren. Manson isnt a good fit for a Toronto trade.

100% accurate. Those of us Anaheim guys who are reasonable have been saying this all along. I would add that Toronto's 2020 second, Liljegren and another prospect would probably get it done too.

Nylander has more value than Pesce. Either way I don't see a deal getting done.
