a new hope
So many things wrong with this. 1) Skinner is not a cap dump and if he was we would not give away 2 picks and a prospect for a 7th. Hes a 30-40 goal scorer everyone knows that. With a new coach he will be fine, he cannot control the fact that he was buried on the 4th line playing 10 mins a night. 2) Why is Buf adding to that Winnipeg trade? He is worth a 2nd at minimum. 3) That Rangers trade makes me want to puke. How does a top 15 player in the league, a top PP scorer in the league, and 2 draft picks get you a 2nd overall bust, a player who is not even in the league right now, and Laf? You're right it doesn't. That Rangers trade is not enough for Eichel ALONE but to include Olofsson and 2 picks for that package is absolute garbage.

Dahlin has regressed significantly under Krueger. But he was great with an actual coach in Housley.

Kahun was not a bottom 6 forward. Middle 6 yes.

Solving the 2c and size on the blue line
I'd respectfully pass on the Sabres deal.
Laine is fantastic, but if we trade Cozens we'd have an even larger long-term hole at 2C than Winnipeg does now. We could definitely use another top 6 RW, but as you guys surely know the 2C spot is a much harder position to fill. I'm not sure we make good trade partners for that reason.
What would you guys think of bringing Stastny back to be your 2C this year? He's rumored to be available if the Knights make a serious run at Pietrangelo, and the Jets could probably take a guy like Lundell at 10 to hopefully take that spot long-term.

What would you give for Reinhart Montour etc
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jack_</b></div><div>I wouldn't give up anything for montour</div></div>
That's pretty funny considering the Leafs are 27th in goals against. Montour would easily be top 3 on the Leafs and probably kick Barrie off first line at this point. Kapanen and a 2nd is close to value for Montour; but then again, Leafs fans think Kapanen has top 3 value in a top 9 role so you'd probably say no.

Columbus wouldn’t even consider this trade. Maybe if it were Anderson and Wennberg, but Bjorkstrand has been one our best forwards this year and Jenner is showing he could possibly be a second line center for us.
Anderson and Wennberg need a change. How about Samuelson and a 2nd for both? And we take Bogo as a cap dump.

Jack Eichel vs Nathan MacKinnon
I think Eichel is the choice for MVP right now...Mackinnon is definitely the Avs mvp, but he has a touch more help. He's still ridiculous, and I would say better than Eichel, and id rather have him on my team than eichel, but strictly talking about this seasons mvp race, I think Eichel is in the lead if they make playoffs

Okay and Matthews is one of the best centers in the league and those two are pretty good top 6 wingers on like any team. My point is that Eichel is not overrated, he is as talented as he was projected to be. Not that he is better than any specific player.

Literally no one in their sane mind has called him a bust. Unless ur McDavid/Crosby you basically cant do anything as a center with no talented wingers. you really have not been paying attention to Eichel if you think he was a bust. He finally has talented wingers and is showing what he can do and why he deserved to go second overall. Hes not better than MacK/Crosby/McDavid but at this very moment including injuries he is a top 5 center in the league hands down.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone call eichel a bust. If they did then they have obviously never watched a hockey game in their life.

ur leafs bias is clearly showing. MacK is def better, but Eichel is overrated until this year? My guy played on a ****ty buffalo team at the start of his career (Ppl using the same excuse for MacK's mediocre start) and went second overall to Conner fricken McDavid, a generational talent.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelonVK</b></div><div>That doesn’t make any sense. There are like 100+ better players in the league, of course he isn’t - you just want something better in return. But that’s very much different.</div></div>
He is certainly not untouchable, but there is no reason for us to trade him, unless it is an elite 2C or RW, which is better than Reinhart, for example Patrick Kane. Obviously, we don’t need defenders anymore, so this trade is simply meaningless for us.

Big retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelonVK</b></div><div>“Reino is nearly untouchable atm” is exactly what a deluded homer would say. It’s exactly why you laughed off my ideas of trying to trade Mittelstadt for Tarasenko - cause you have a huge homer bias and think your players are better than they are. The reason Buffalo is bad isn’t that all their players are secretly great. Reinhart is a good player, but this mentality is insane.
Do you think Ristolainen is anywhere in the same realm as Hall as a player? He isn’t even in the same realm as Larsson, who isn’t in the same realm as Hall. You’re trading a net negative player somehow costing over 5 mil for a top 5 winger. Now, even with that, Hall won’t sign in Buffalo now, so they don’t make sense as a trade partner.</div></div>
Reino is easily our best rw. He had 67 points last year and keeps getting better every year. Absolutely no reason to trade him for any dman when we have a surplus.
