Kosmachuk is a UFA and if caps sign him he will be in Hershey. Wonder if this means caps bring back connolly or Johansson

Look at his stats last yer it seemed like he was buried in a role that wasnt suited wiht him, heavy Dzone starts compared to what he had under trotz. Seems like he was asked to be on a shut down defensive line?</div></div>
He played a lot of 4th line minutes. If he gets top 9 minutes consistently, he will blossom. So talented.

I'm happy with that return. More than what I thought we would get, but I still believe in Burky and would want him on the team

I knew they would QO him for trade purposes at least, but we can fit everyone if Vrana signs a 2-3 Year deal. If burky goes, I hope we lock Vrana in for 5+ years

Yeah. They should be getting a NHL ready player back. We don't need picks.

Nothing as in anything less than a 2nd Rounder. His value is so low I want to just give him normal playing time for a year.

Vrana isn't gonna be less than $3M on a 2 year deal. Chaisson will get more and we don't need DSP back that ship has sailed.

The OTT deal looks fair maybe giving up too much. The other 2 are horrid. JJ & a 3rd get you a bag of pucks if you're lucky, not a 2nd.

On a 1Yr deal Djoos would be under $1M. His QO is $700,000 and he wouldn't have a strong arbitration case due to his injury and lack of games last year.

3 way trade with Pittsburgh and Colorado
Value Makes Sense from Pit to OTT. Idk if kessel is worth that from Colorado. Also, they have so much cap space I don't think Ott needs to retain any salary unless its just to help get to the floor.

Edmonton isn't gonna give benning and pool for Toronto's trash. You can't shed salary and not pay sweeteners. Brown is not a sweetener contrary to most leaf fans. He is just an overpaid bottom 6 player. Hence the need to trade him.

Can you figure out the Formula and its Realistic with just 2 smaller trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div><a href="/users/cap2018champs" target="_blank">@cap2018champs</a>
Who said he's an AHLer. No one said johnson is bad. He's a decent defensive defenseman. His contract could be cheaper though and it shouldnt be as long. This is worse for a team that doesnt need the extra cap hit right now. And what makes you think coglianos value is so good when he was traded for just devin shore. And theyre the same cap hit. And argument can obviously be made for why cogliano is the best choice of the two which is why picks exist. But penguins will be feeling a little deprived of a hagelin type player. And the Stars need a depth defender.</div></div>
Cogliano is quite valuable maybe slightly overpaid. His skating is still very strong and age hasn't hit him badly. JJ has among the worst metrics for qualified D-Men. The salary isn't the issue on the trade since its equal, but Cogliano will be good through his contract. JJ is buyout material now, better yet in 2-3 years. You'd have to really make it worth Dallas' while (1st maybe 2nd Rounder) to take on JJ or really any team to take him on since he is buyout proof due to a 8 year payout period as of now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DerekMaluish</b></div><div>Why would he not sign the QO and take less money.. than if he just signed the QO?</div></div>
If they offered him a multi year deal or told him either sign for less or well trade you to Team X. He has said he wants to stay in WSH. They had to Qualify him regardless to retain his rights for a trade anyways.

You can't trade an AHL Player for an NHL Player and add a 4th rounder to make it fair lol

Unrealistic Chicago trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Orionus</b></div><div>I mean, you're talking about a 30 year old winger who is one of the best players in hockey, crucial to the team he plays on, and who has no reason to be traded by said team. Oh, and he's going to be cheaper than most of his younger counterparts shortly, due to cap inflation.
If the Rangers wanted to trade for Kane, it would likely look like Kakko, Skjei, Strome, 2020 1st, and a B+ prospect. Which is why it would never happen for either team.</div></div>
As a fan of neither team, if I was CHI I'd trade Kane for Kakko, Skjei & a 1st Rounder. I think Kane is a Top 5 Player in the league, but that value would be incredible for Chicago and they could go sign Panarin with the extra cap space. Obviously won't happen but fun to discuss.

COL isn't trading Johnson cause hes cost controlled for 4 years at a good deal and certainly wouldn't retain for that package.

Yeah, but Pirri can't play 4th line minutes. He is a complete defensive liability. I wouldn't mind signing him if Burky was gone and we needed a 3rd line winger.
