Huge "No" from Flyers.
They are looking for two 1st round picks for Hart. Not another goalie and a bunch of late picks. If the Flyers don't get their price, they have no problem keeping Hart as their franchise goalie. Still extremely young and not even in his prime yet. The kid is very talented, he just had zero D for him last few years.
He's on the block, but it doesnt meen they will give him away. They're aware of what they have and they expect an offer they can't refuse if he gets traded.
For the hawks, you'd have to consider giving away something like a 1st round next year & Reichel.

Getting a potential franchise 1C is rare as hell. I'd expect whoever has 3 OA to completely dismiss that offer and this offer from the Flyers. They're simply not worth it and the only thing that's getting 3 OA from the Jackets is a U25 1C that can be extended long term.</div></div>
You said it best "Potential" franchise 1C
Just like Laffy was supposed to be. Or even Nolan Patrick and many others.
Yet, you can either be a gambler in life, or take the sure things. Hart & TK are sure value. Carlsson is a hope.

I take TK over Marchenko all day.
Only Wingers the Jackets have better than TK is Johnny and Laine.
You put TK - Johnson - Roslovic on the 2nd line and its OP
Edit: And Laine over TK is debatable

Are you saying a franchise goalie not even in his prime yet + the best flyers forward who can rack up 80 points/season and a prospect is not worth a Leo Carlsson? 🤣
I think you're over rating the 3rd pick and under rating what TK and Hart brings.
Lets turn the table for a second.
Would you trade Laine & Merzlikin for Leo Carlsson?
And don't come and tell me Laine & Merz are worth that much more than TK, Hart & Brink. + on top of that, he is retaining some TK salary.
Get real now, Hart is under rated because of the team he has. Put him in Vegas, he wins the Vezina. It shows you don't watch the flyers much. And TK is an established top 6 forward on any NHL teams right now.
If i'm the Flyers GM I wouldnt do this trade.

Konecny Hart and Hayes go bye bye at the draft
As a flyers fan the only untouchable player I want is TK. But this offer is a very decent one. It would get me thinking a lot. As much as I don't want to get rid of TK, this is making it a debate.
For the Hart trade, that would be a NO NO for me. Way too much for only moving up a few spots in the draft.
I'd give Hart and the detroit pick for the clb pick.

Flyers are trying to rebuild.
That means clear up cap space and get younger.
Which also meens they need players who will be good in a couple years.
All those players do nothing to get the Flyers moving forward. They get a bunch of contracts they don't need and players that are meeningless for them.
You'd have a better chance at getting Hart if you'd offer a Broberg, Bouchard or Holloway. No 1 is gonna trade a goalie entering his prime who is extremely skilled (just didnt show because of how bad Philly were) for a pile of unwanted players.

This is figuring that the ducks picks 4th and Flyers picks 7th. And Carlsson is still on the board. Obviously its a simulation and only for fun.

Why would we trade Risto for a scratch Lemieux and some irrelevant picks. Flyers can get more out of him.
Also, I hate to have JVR on the 4th line at 7m/year. If we're to put a 7m $ guy on the 4th, might as well trade him for a 7th round somewhere.

I agree also but to get Draisaitl, we could maybe mannage around Felix Sandstrom & Ivan Fedotov in the rebuild process.
They are 2 great prospect who could perhaps do the job down the line.

Why would the Rangers give up a first and a prospect for a position that is fine as is and will be cheaper for them in the long run? could use the first on a forward and save money instead of paying a premium for a poor rental? Not arguing with the return if that's what the Flyers hope to receive just pointing out I don't think he fits the Rangers here.</div></div>
Risto said no to 6m/year for 6 years with the flyers because I believe he wants to play with a contender and he is tired to be on a rebuilding team. I don't think the money was the problem, I believe its the team. I'm sure he would play for 4.5m if the rangers or another contender offered him. I think he hates to do a long contract because he knows he could be worth more in a year or 2 with a good team.
Honestly, as a flyers fan, I'm pissed that he wants to leave because he is one of the only good asset we have and can cheer for.
He shows emotions, passion, hits hard, big body, produces numbers when given the opportunity. It's a shame to lose him and any team should be happy to aquire him. He will be a great addition to any contender.

Giroux in a pens jersey would be awesome
Giroux said he would play for Colorado, St Louis, Minnesota. Now there are Tampa, Florida and Canes linked to him too. But he will play his 1000 games with the flyers before anything happens, and knowing how Giroux is, he will never agree to play for the Pens even if they were 1st overall in the standings. You wont make a flyers captain who has played 1000 games with the team, sign with their rivals.

So much hate on a guy who played with mediocre teams all his life. Risto is so under rated only because he never was well surrounded.
Put him in the Rangers on the top pair and he suddenly becomes a Brent Burns in his prime. Y'all might think i'm crazy, but Risto was making 0.5 pts/game in a basement team year after year.
Put him in a team full of talent like the rangers, he will challenge Fox for points and i'm not even kidding. The guy is a stud and Flyers already said his price for him. It aint gonna be cheap.
Add to that, that the rangers will be contenders for a long time so their 1st rounders are not worth as much as if it was a Coyotes or Buffalo 1st. We're talking late 1st round pick and a defensive prospect for a guy who is already established in the NHL and can play at a high level on day 1. Rangers wants to win now, not in 5 years.
+ you get a salary discount on him.
Hate the deal all you want, but if the rangers believed in their chances this year, they would do it.

I'd argue that. Covering 2 of the most needed help for the oilers and giving them finally a franchise goalie + a 1st round. Yeah, a goalie is worth more than anything in this league. They wont ever win with Smith and Koskinen. McDavid can carry this offense, they dont need Draisaitl more than a goalie and a defensmen.
So yeah, I'd argue that.

Rangers could use his physical play for the playoffs and he is a former 8th overall pick. Just happened to be unlucky and play for mediocre teams. In the right system and with good teamates, he has the upside to be a top end defensmen in the league. Rangers are looking to make a push for the playoffs this year and Schneider won't help them with that. Risto will.
By the way, this is the price for Ristolainen and Flyers also paid a 1st round pick to aquire him. He is worth more than you think.

I agree but I love TK for his energy. He is a rat on the ice and he gets under people's skin fast. He might not always put up the stats but I believe he is a very talented winger who has emotions on the ice. Things we like as flyers fans. This year we were stormed by injuries and couldnt catch a break. Rough year all around. Last year was rough for everyone with covid and division schedules.
I'd give TK 1 more year to see what he is all about. I still believe in him.
But a RHD wouldnt be a bad thing to have, I cant argue that.
