<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Oh for sure. IMO, he's a non-tender candidate, but yeah, $1.5-$1.8 is a much more reasonable bet than 900K</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchMarner_16</b></div><div>I could see him signing for $1.5-$1.8, id be suprised if he gets more than $2.5</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>So is 25% of the league. Doesn't mean they're signing in Toronto for the league minimum.</div></div>

Don't think it's unreasonable that he wouldn't take a pay cut to contend, play for his hometown team, have a chance to play with guys like Matthews-Marner, Tavares-Nylander. He performs well it could bring up his value for his next deal, he's gotta be at an all time low right now. Bogosian isn't from Toronto area but he signed 1m deal there, Thornton &amp; Spezza signed actual league minimum 0.7m to contend for their hometown team; Spezza has signed 0.7m twice now, Simmonds did for 1.5m down from his last deal of 5m to do the same. Brodie is from the area and signed for a very reasonable 5m. Think Dubas would have to pitch him that he'd get the opportunity to play with either Matthews-Marner or JT-Nylander at least initially.

League minimum is 750k for next season btw and it'll still be a COVID market.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>"Completely disagree with that take on Doughty, he didn't fall off a cliff for 150 games" How?

"Price but when he's on he's Canada's best goalie" That's the thing with Price. It's almost as if wee need to wait for him to decide if he wants to play at his best or not. No time for that, just go with a goalie that is great consistently.

"I'd pick him over Kuemper easily. Even then probably a mistake not picking him over Kuemper" Kuemper has been a top5 G over the past 2-3 years but okay.</div></div>
Nope Kuemper's been really good though, so has Hart who's only 22, 23 next year &amp; Kuemper is out with an injury for some time. Canada get's to pick 3 goalies so why not pick the one with the most upside a good track record at that kind of stage? There were rumours about Price's personal life &amp; well being being a distraction to his game, and his workload caused him to play through too much fatigue than he could manage. It's very common for goalies to go through stretches where they aren't as good but then come back too life. Bobrovsky is the most inconsistent of them all. Gibson now has not been playing nearly as well as he had been season to season, but he'll likely get it together. Doughty was a very good defenseman for those 150 games but got largely criticized for his 11m long term deal he had just signed. Before that he was among the very best few defenseman in the league for a while. People were wrong to give up on him while his team sucked, thinking he was headed for a drastic decline. Clearly that's not the case. I'd pick him even when he was playing 'bad for him'
